Dh has a work detail the week of our Texas spring break 3/11 - 3/17 to San Bernardino area. The kids and I are tagging along so we can get our disney fix! LOL We will be staying at the Hilton at the Ontario County airport (if that helps

Here's our plan so far.
Saturday leave Texas.

Sunday morning be in La ready for California Adventures. After closing the park head to dh hotel (aprox and hour drive) and check in.

Monday, the kids and I will stay at the hotel and dh has to work from 4pm to 130am.

Tuesday, I need something to do this day because dh wants to sleep in from the night before. We'll have a car. I kind of want to go to La and see the Hollywood sights with the kids but after ready how seedy it is I don't know if it's the best idea to go without dh. Hopefully I'm over reacting. I've thought about driving down the I5 on the coast down to San Diego. I think think the kids would enjoy that but then what do we do when we get to San Diego? We have Sea World here in Texas so that is out. The SD zoo is so expensive that I don't know if I want to spend that kind of money. If there is a cheaper way to go please let me know. Then there is Lego Land, which would thrill my son but not my daughter. LOL I just don't know about this day and I need a plan! LOL

Wednesday is the same thing with dh. We have to be out of the room to let him sleep! And this is his last day of work.

Thursday we are all headed back to spend the night in Anaheim at the Double tree about 3 miles from Disneyland. This day will be spent at Disneyland.

Friday we leave for home back to Texas! Can you all help I need a plan and there is so much to do and see. I was thinking about using the hop on hop off bus tour but then what do I do about my car? See the dilemma?

Thank you for all the help!

Hollywood is fun to see the sites but there is not much there and it is a bit "seedy". I would probbally be okay with going during the day by myself but not at night. It also wouldnt keep you entertained for more then an hour or two.

I LOVE the aquairum in Long Beach. Newport Beach area is fun; you could boogie board and take in the sites. There are lots of amusement parks if you like that route; Universal Studios, Knotts, 6 Flags. San Diego is beautiful but is a little bit of a drive; the thre zoo is suppose to be great. There is also Legoland on the way (very pricey thou and more for younger kids) and the Safari Park.

Thanks for the info! I just went to all the theme parks websites and got prices. The SD Zoo is actually looking pretty cheap compaired to the other parks (106.00 for 1 adult and 2 children) .

My kids are dd 11 and ds 8 if that helps anyone. My daughter loves roller coasters but my ds is still a little intimidated by them especially the ones that go upside down! LOL

I was looking at Knotts and Six flags. They are priced ok. I just wonder how I will handle this situation (dd wants to go on ride ds doesn't). Do they have single rider lines or can I walk through the line with my dd and ds then we leave through the chicken exit and let my dd ride, meeting here at the exit when she's done? LOL

Universal is also out due to the fact that they have been to the one in Florida and the one in california looks like a joke compared to the other one. My kids would feel let down by what little they have to offer.

Thanks again

I have the same issue; DD likes to ride the roller coasters and DS does not (he is only 6). Makes it hard!! I am not sure if they have single rider lines or not to be honest. Legoland has a few coaster type rides and a bunch of smaller kid rides so that might be a good compromise vs the bigger parks like 6Flags. Or have you just thought about adding another day at Disney?

Have a great trip!! There is tons to do in Southern California and some great beaches so I am sure you will have fun no matter what you pick!

I did think about that but dh said no way are we going to Disney without him! LOL:lmao: We are already using two of our 6 days from our non expiration wdw tickets to do two days at disney. The last four days need to be reserved for wdw for next year! And it would cost us 234.00 plus parking for one day.

I guess I'm just trying to be cheap and not spend a whole lot of money. Especially sense this is a last minute trip! I guess I need to tell the kids were going. It was suppose to be a surprise but I think I now want their input on the stuff they would like to do.

There are some options for a slight savings if you are interested in going there. If you are a Costco member, you can try to get the tickets there. Also if you are a AAA member, you can get a 10% discount at the gate.
