Help! I don't know anything about Universal

From the 10th to the 12th of this month, I will be betraying the Disney Gods and going to Universal.

I have gone before, but I don't remember much.

I have a few questions. Well, maybe a lot.

1) How bad are the wait times for the Hogwartz Express?

2) Dining in Harry Potter world? Are there any good restaurants?

3) I remember going on the Hulk, and I loved it. I am thinking about doing Rip Ride Rocket. Which is more intense, The hulk, or rip ride rocket?

4) Any good shows?

5) Express pass worth it?

We are at the Leaky Cauldron and the food was quite good. We went in December and had a 10 to 15 minute wait for the train. The queue is very long. The express pass won't work with the potter rides.

Quick answers....
1 I've never waited long for the hogwarts express. Off-ish season for us, but not more than a few min waits

2 three broomsticks and Leakey cauldron. I like both but we liked the three broomsticks better.

3 hulk is substantially more intense. RRR is cool but my son and I found it rougher. No loops though. Also highly recommend both dragon challenge coasters.

4 skip the Sinbad stunt show. Amazing set.....really bad show. OLivanders is kind o; a show and Is great.

I don't think so, rope drop and single rider lines get you far.

We just got back from our first trip. Loved it. You will have a great time.

We ate at both the Leaky Cauldren and Three Broomsticks. Both are good but we, too, preferred Three Broomsticks.

Around mid day there was a fair crowd for HE at Kings Cross Station but it moved quickly. Never really had a wait going the other way.

We took part of a day to see all the street type shows and all were good. In Hogsmeade the Frog Choir and Tri Wizard Schools are not to be missed if you are a big HP fan. And take time for pictures with them afterwards, they are a lot of fun. Tales of Beedle the Bard and Celestina Warbeck were good too.

The Blues Brothers, Sing It, Beat Builders and Flying Fish Market were all good and very worth taking the time to see.

We didn't have express but did see a benefit of it and will probably get it next time. I would guess it depends on the crowd level.

OP for a quick over-view, good idea to set aside some time this weekend and read thru the first few pages here. will give you a quick foundation.

hit HP area early or late to try to avoid the crowds. If you have access to early entry, take advantage of it and head directly to HP.

we typically stay onsite and deal with security at boat dock or end of walkways. Were surprised last trip how long it took to get thru it after transferring our car over to the parking garage. Leave yourself plenty of time.

Mythos is a nice break from the park. Citiwalk venues close enough to duck in & out quickly

U isn't as special of an experience without the FOTL perk from staying onsite. If possible, consider booking a night or two there. Otherwise, you can always add express pass on if the parks are mobbed. Your dates are early in June but we have still seen it very busy then with many tour groups. If Kong is running it will be packed lol.
