what colors and papers would you use to scrap amish places, old norgiewen round barns, scuplture gardens, two zoos, ft shelling, mall of america, underwater adventues, victorian houses, senic outlook, rainforset cafe, Hard rock cafe anad a native american meseum.
Its going to be all one scrapbook since its our birthday trip. I will be using specility paper too but I know I need a standard color theme for the book. what colors would you reccomend? I know I need a standred color theme cause if I dont it will look really not connected. I mean I want it to look good when its done. GRR Someone must understand me

Black, white or off white, and pale yellow. Daisy from Bazzill is really nice.

That should go with all of your photos

If you use black and cream consistantly, I think you should be able to accent with different colors on the various pages. For example "greyed" colors like wedgwood blue on the Amish pages, greens on the garden and zoo pages, and red on the hard rock pages (two page spreads with the same accent colors).

When I did such an album, on our 6 week retirement trip, I used greens and brown on the 'inland' pages and blues and brown, from the same line with the same intensity/saturation (whatever you call it) on the "coastal" pages. I used the same font and embellishment series throughout. In fact, I used the same two "sketches" thoughout.

I try to use the same sketches throught. I havent done a from scratch srapbook in over two years. Most of mine are from kits (you kno, plop in pictures and stuff in predetermined spots). Im nervious about this looking good since its going to get showed off alot since its our first ever BIG mom and daughter vacation.

I would suggest a navy blue, olive or mossy green and a few neutral tan/browns. Oh and you always need to use a little black b/c it makes the colors pop.

I think deciding on a main color scheme is a great idea. It makes things go so much faster.

You might also try finding a patterned paper line that you like and goes well with your photos and then pulling the solids from there. You can often find embellishments that are made to go with it as well.

Certainly colors in the more muted range. Sounds like a wonderful trip. :goodvibes

Don't know if I am too late to add to this or not.

I recently began working on a 4 day business trip to Switzerland and I choose muted old world looking colors/prints. I didn't stick to a theme as much as a style. I am keeping all pics in rectangles or squares, titling them in the same style (white rectangle with date, city, location of Pics), journaling on white paper with the same font, plus using the same types of embellies on the pages (i.e. magic mesh in muted tones, brads, clips etc.). I think the flow of the book is great this way and it allows for each layout to have its own color scheme. I also have been making sure all background papers are solids, and I just add prints as accents, this allows the pictures to stand on their own.

Have done one the way you were asking, such as a wedding album (all black/white with only a accent color for each layout) but i am really liking the Switz album look better.

If you are still not started let me know and I will post a few pics for you.

I'd like to see your pages when you're done! I've got lots of unscrapped old world photos from our 9 years living in Europe. Actually, FCM, it would be great to see yours when you're done, too. That sounds like an interesting trip!

Well, I dont neeed to worry anymore. Mom and I agreed to skip going to minn. this year in order to save up to go to my first choice for a birthday next year, Washigtion dc.

Lindababe....I wiil post a few of them soon. Thanks for wanting to see them. I have one album completely journaled and will be going to a crop tonight so I should get more done. So far I like it. I need to go back and do some wishblade titles but my first priority is getting it done, journaled and under page protectors.
