Okay guys I need some help here. I've tried ever possible combination that I know of and I can't find a "fair" price from Buffalo to Orlando leaving May 22, and returning May 25. I don't like to pay more than $200 per person, and every thing I'm finding is $249. If you ahve any hints please, please, please let me know! This is the only thing holding me back from finishing this last minute anniversary surprise!!!

Delta has a few choices for $227..on their website I just checked. That is a little bit better.

I just checked Travelocity and there are many airlines with good deals..United $170, Continental $165, American $161, Northwest $161

Have you checked lately/today?

I checked travelocity yesterday and when I tried to book them they were either unavailable or much higher in price (around 300). I guess I'll keep trying. Delta--what times--I must be doing something wrong becasue it keeps giving me 249.00.

So are you looking for non-stops and are you particular about your times. Sometimes the cheap airfares aren't the times you may want to travel. I noticed the cheapest airfares either leave at 6 in the morning or get to Orlando at midnight.

Well, it is Memorial Day weekend, so you should expect fares to be higher than normal for those dates. I checked Travelocity and got the same $161 deal that magically turned into $337 after selecting the flights. Try Southwest. I checked for your dates there and got a quote of $229 R/T for non-stop flights. This might be your best bet at this point.

I was hoping to not have to take the day off of work, but I guess it may be more cost effective...That Southwest fare is the best I've seen so far, I may have to book that after I check with DH to be sure he can take the extra day off of work. Thanks everyone for those really quick replys and suggestions!

Hmm. can you leave on the 21st? You could get tix for $200 even for each of you R/T with SWA. It would be the NS flight to MCO and an early afternoon flight (12:45) changing planes in BWI then on to BUF.

If you choose both N/S flights it would be $190.00 per tix but you would be leaving MCO at 10:25am.

Ohhh..I found a good deal at AirTran too! 196.00 per tix with all the taxes, flying out on 5/22, flight 555, connecting in Atlanta and coming back on 5/25, flight 224, connecting in Atlanta again.

If those flight times are bad, post the times you are hoping to fly and I cnan quickly check. LOL I have so many windows open to different airlines, I feel like a TA!

Hope this helps!

I was hoping to leave at 5pm and return int he afternoon--I can be flexible a bit, but I am supposed to be at work--I guess I could call in sick...of not being at Disney?!!

Ok, well now those same flights are showing $232 p/p! The return flight must be filling up and now is much more expensive. If you can fly home on Monday (memorial day) you could pay $171.00 but that would mean flying out early Thursday instead of late Thursday.

Guess I'll just keep airline site hopping and pounce when (if) it drops again! Everything else went so smoothly for this little excursion.;)

Hi Patsal.
Just looking around and discovered that JetBlue is having an AWESOME flight sale from your area to Orlando!

The web sale is $59-79 one way from NY (Buffalo included) to MCO - WISH I could take advantage of it!

Check it out!

SeaWitch-where did you see that price advertised? I'm curious about dates and restrictions.

The cheapest I could price out on JetBlue for the OPs dates is $302 R/T pp. Must be because of it being memorial day weekend.

Good Luck patsal! I'll pm you if I see anything cheaper as we are looking for the same thing, just different dates.

My wife and I refuse to pay more than $200 (Before taxes) for a plane ticket to Orlando. We have been using Travelocity for years and have always had excellent results. Sometimes you just need to be a little patient and watch the fares for a while. Sometimes it takes a few days, sometimes a month or longer, but they always go down. I've found it's best not to book anything until you've got the tickets since some special prices are only good on certain days of the week, then once you have the tickets book your vacation days around them. If you're flexible Travelocity is the way to go!

<--- Booked my May 17th-27th tickets a few months ago... For $158 each ;) (Plus tax of course but still... GREAT deal!)

Found out about the JetBlue sale from TravelZoo.... but it is advertised on their site JetBlue.com
Also noticed it on another post here on the budget board (someone got $59 each way) from NY.

I wish we had JetBlue in TX - looks cool!

Thank you all so much, your responses and help have been reassuring, I'll keep trying until something good pops up. I would love to be more flexible about the dates, but this is our grown up only anniversary trip! Why, oh why did I get married on a holiday weekend?!!;)

patsal-
keep checking! The AirTran flights I was interested in from ROC to MCO just changed, better flight times and same prices. I also checked some BUF to MCO flights for my days and the prices are considerably lower than yesterday. Perhaps it will be the same for your dates!

Please be careful if you're considering Air Tran - I have heard so many negative things about them (cancelling flights, delays, etc., etc., etc.) that I'd pay a little more to have an airline with a better reputation.

JMHO

Well, I hope that the rumors are untrue! I booked with them and if they cancel my flight I will be hugely disappointed.

All of the threads I have seen about AirTran on the DIS Boards have been pretty positive, so don't worry too much. I also know that AirTran has developed an excellent reputation for low fares and good service in Akron, which is why I have booked them for my May trip.
