My husband and I are doing a quick weekend getaway in August. Right now we've got a theme park view at Bay Lake Tower booked, but I'm just not sure about it. We're doing two park days where we're going to go to MK, Epcot, and HS. I'm starting to think that I'd rather stay at Boardwalk Villas or Beach Club rather than Bay Lake, but I've never stayed at any of those resorts so I'm having a hard time making a decision. BLT just doesn't seem like it has a lot going for it except location, the theming looks non-existent. Where would you stay if you were me? I can switch to BWV or BCV, there's availability. Thanks!

We really like Beach Club. I find BLT very bland. Since you are going to Epcot and HS, the BC is actually a better resort location for your since you can walk to both Epcot and HS.

We love the Epcot area hotels. There is so much to do and walking to Epcot and HS (or boating) is so much more enjoyable than taking a bus. We have stayed at BC and the Swan and both are wonderful. We stayed at Contemporary last year for a few nights before a cruise and enjoyed it but we decided to go back to BC this summer.

ok so my personal preference is either the Beach Club or Yacht Club resort. If it is just you and your husband, then the Yacht Club if its available, its quieter then the Beach Club, aka less kids, and it shares all the same amenities. Me and My wife stayed there trip before last and we watched the fireworks from the hot tub at the pool. Boardwalk isnt a bad choice either for the night life but I still prefer Yacht or Beach because its just a boat ride across to the Boardwalks night life anyway

If you stay at BLT then you can walk to MK but you have to take two monorails to get to Epcot. There is a bus to HS that shares with Wilderness Lodge.

If you stay at BWV or BCV then you would take a bus to MK but walk or take a boat to the other two parks. The buses at the BCV's share with YC, but we prefer BCV's to BWV because of the BC Marketplace and the pools.

If you have park hoppers or AP's then it is very convenient to walk into Epcot or HS multiple times. There are activities at night on the Boardwalk to enjoy. You can see both Illuminations and the Star Wars fireworks from the resort area.

There are quite a few people who prefer the Epcot resort area, but I'm not one of them. Epcot for us is just a shadow of what it once was, and HS is well. . .HS these days. The epitome of the magic that is the Disney "bubble" is the MK resorts, IMO. That said, you'll never know how you feel about the other options until you try them. Totally not impressed with YC a few months ago, we're giving the area another shot with a stay at BC this summer.

I have to admit that being close to MK is appealing - it's why I booked BLT. But the parks aren't going to be open very late when we're there and it just seems like there's not a ton of things to do around MK. I'm just starting to wonder if being close to 2 of the 3 parks we're going to would save time and be more advantageous than staying at BLT. Plus, I don't like that we have to walk over to the Contemporary for everything like buses, food, and shopping. Still, I'm just really unsure what to do!

We're DVC members and love BLT but there's not a bad choice here. Each resort has benefits and very few downsides.:)

I love both BWV and BCV and you can't go wrong with either if the majority of your park time is in DHS and EP. Is one cheaper than the other? If not, I would simply pick the theme that appeals to you most and book!

We love the EPCOT resorts for many reasons. One of the main ones being that it is walking distance to EPCOT and HS.
And the Boardwalk is just fun at night.
When our kids were younger, they loved the sand pool at BC.

Since you are planning on going to HS & Epcot, I would go with BCV. My family loved when we stayed at the Yacht Club and the kids didn't mind having to do the bus to MK. Although my husband & I like the convenience of the MK resorts for when we go to the MK, we like the surrounding amenities by YC much better.

Did it take very long to get to MK by bus?

Contemporary & BLT are bland theming, but California Grill atop the Contemporary is one of the best signature restaurants on property...

For August, Beach Club due to Stormalong Bay. No contest.

For sure an Epcot resort. If you are going late August, there's F&W then now too.
