My hubby and I are taking a trip to Orlando this September. The plan was to stay the first night onsite at US, then transfer to WDW.

The US/IOA park hours listed are 9-6 (weekdays) for our visit. My husband and I have never been to US or IOA and are really looking forward to it. BUT my question is......... Can we do both parks (we will have the FOTL deal coz we are staying onsite, plus we are going midweek in September) in one day?

I should also say we are only really interested in the BIG rides. Hulk, Spiderman, MIB and such, not so much the backstage tours and shows. We are leaving our littleones at home, so we dont feel the need to ride anything they could ride with them, coz we will go back to US with them, if you know what I mean. We want to break loose and go go go. BIG BIG BIG FAST FAST FAST.
:teeth::teeth::teeth::teeth:

I know we wont see everything but will we be able to fit in the major attractions at both parks in one day? How are the crowds during the week in the middle of September?

Thanks soooooooooooooooo much for you insites. Our kiddies are young (3 and 1/2) so we are MK pros......... but clueless when it comes to US/IOA

Yes, you should probably be able to fit the major attractions in if you get there first thing in the morning...

You shouldn't have a problem at all especially utilizing the FOTL!!!:D :bounce:

What time are you arriving? If you are staying one night on-site, you are entitled to two days of express access. All day the day you check in and all day the day you check out.

We will be arriving at US/IOA around 2 or 3 in the afternoon. I am not sure if we want to pay for addmission for only 3 hours of park time..... but we may. It would be hard to just hang.... while the parks are open. :D

Thanks everyone for your thoughts..... We know this wont be our last trip there, so if we miss something we could always come back! Still..... we want to get in as much as we can while we are there!!!

:D

If you are planning on going again with the kids within a year, you should buy an Annual Pass. It is basically the same price as a Two-Day pass and will allow you to go the first afternoon, plus the whole second day. You will then have unlimited admissions (minus a few peak days) for the next 363 days.

Thanks for the tip about the AP, but we wont be taking the kiddies there for a couple of years..... (famous last words)

:D

I have done both parks in one day without having FOTL. As always, have tickets in hand and be waiting at the gate for doors to open.

We did IOA first since it is the newest park. Went and did Spiderman 3 times in a row (use the baby swap to avoid lines), Fire & ICE 2 times, back to hulk once all within 45 minutes. By this time our brains were scrambled so we sat down for a few minutes. Then we hit all the other major rides and were done by noon. We carried a spare change of clothes and hit all the water rides last.

Grab a cocktail at Jimmy Buffets and changed into dry clothing and then cruised over to Universal around 1. Since you have FOTL access you should be able to hit all of the major rides by the end of the day if you don't do alot of shows.

Have fun.....and if you aren't accustom to walking 6 to 10 miles a day, get in shape before you go.

I've also done both parks in a day without FOTL.
Like others have said, arrive to the gate at 08:15am so you're first in line. Sometimes, they open early. The line streatches past the ticket booths by 08:45am.
Getting thru the gate first gives you a huge advantage. The rest of the crowd is still arriving, while you are in the park.
I go clockwise hitting all the rides in order, Hulk, Spiderman, Dr. Doom, back to hulk to get an express pass for noon, Ripsaw Falls, Popeye, JPRA, DD, PF. Yes, you get soaked, but your cloths dry off by the time you get to DD. I consider getting soaked part of the adventure. Remember to put your shoes in the middle holder on Popeye.
By the time you take your lap, it will be about 11am or so and the park will be filling up. I go back to Hulk and use my express pass. Next, head over to Universal because the movie rides have a larger capacity. Come back to IOA at night to do the rides again as the tired are leaving.

Wow! THanks for the tips! ::::::::::::taking notes:::::::::::::: We cant wait to go!!! WOoooooooooo hooooooooooooooooo!!!!
