I went to the post office this week and shipped a box of stuff to WL for our upcoming trip. I need to ship some of it back home (film, big scissors, etc). I don't want to risk our film getting ruined & I don't want my bags searched because of the kitchen scissors. I tried to prepay an envelope with the contents weight, so all I would have to do is seal it and put it in a mailbox.....The post office wouldn't let me do that it weighs more than 2 pounds! Were is a quick, convenient & cost efficient way to ship this back home. I have a bubble envelope all ready to go...Help! Thanks! :goodvibes

Oh, this will be easy! They will do it at the front desk. I did it from WL a few years ago. I did not have a BOX, that was my hardest part. They sent me to the gift shop, to ask them for a box from their shipments. I packed it up, they helped me tape it. They had the form to fill out, I think it was at the guest services counter. I paid, and that was it. I filled some of it with laundry, and put some items I purchased in the suitcases (hard suitcases)...... I think it might have come back to me UPS, I forget.

Another time I needed a breakable large item sent home, and I went to the UPS store near Goodings (down the street). I needed it bubble wrapped and peanuts, etc (could not be sent home by Disney directly)

The scissors won't be a problem in your checked luggage. They would only be confiscated if in your carryons.

Can you ship anything home from the gift shop at the resorts in a sealed box and pay the shipping? I was under the impression that you could only ship Merchandise purchased while at WDW. I would really love to know because if this is possible I will have some Christmas stuff shipped to the resort a few days before we arrive next December and then have it shipped home.

Personally I would not ship my film. I would carry it on. USPS does lose things!

I ended up having the front desk ship it. It worked out fine. Another poster said to bring a camera service (Snapfish) envelopes with you. I wish I would have read that earlier. It would get your film processed one step ahead of you! Be aware if you ship items to yourself at the resort...it takes forever to get to you. I shipped a box priority mail on Monday and it took until Saturday to get it! I luckily was able to get my son's b-day presents in time!

Hmm. What if you got a prepaid Priority Mail Flat Rate Box and bought the stamp for it at the post office in advance? Then you should be able to leave it at the front desk of your hotel for pickup.

The flat rate box costs $7.70- here's the info:

Boxes
• The Priority Mail Flat Rate Box is $7.70 for any U.S. destination and any weight up to a 70 lb. maximum.
• The inside dimensions for the two boxes available are 11" x 8.5" x 5.5" and 13.625" x 11.875" x 3.375".
• The contents of the flat rate box must be neatly contained inside of the box with adhesive packaging tape.
• The box must close securely and retain its shape when taped with adhesive.
• The shape of the box may not be changed or enlarged to fit its contents.

It's too late now...we're back! I asked about that at the post office and I was told it couldn't be over 1 pound in that package. I see on the website it's 70! That post office man was being a you know what! Oh well! That is nice advice for others though.
