We are planning a trip to Orlando at the end of April to the beginning of May. For the first day, a Sunday, we will be staying at the resort (VWL) and then heading to the parks on the next day. We know we want to head to the parks Mon-Wed and then we are checking out on Thursday.

We will then be staying at the Horizons by Marriott for a week and going to Discovery Cove. We really want to relax and this is the question.

What type of park pass should I get? Will I want to go back in the park from the Horizons place? Since we really just want to do MK and AK this trip, and perhaps also just poke our heads in at Epcot, (MGM for next year), Will a three day do or should we go for more? I don't know if we will want to do Blizzard or anything else since I haven't been. Do you think we may want to go back to WDW from Horizons? Should I wait till next year.

We have an 8 yr old daughter and a 5 yr old son. The big thing is relaxation. I want to just hang out and do nothing (actually wished I had reserved at the beach instead of Horizons, but oh well). Just let me know your opinion when you can. Thanks!

I believe a plain 5 day park hopper is your best value. Days you don't use can be saved for next vacation.

Rumor is park passes are going up in price on sunday.

I expect Univ and SW will follow.

Have a great time and post a report on the Marriot timeshare.

herc.

I would go with the 5 day with PLUS features. I think a trip to a water park might be a nice option for your relaxing week. We think Typhoon Lagoon is a great place to chill out!

You can always save the leftovers for another trip!

WDW is not the best place to relax........lol! At least for us it isn't. We always promise ourselves one out of 10 days we will do nothing! It has never worked out that way. When we stayed at the beach.......we did nothing, but eat!!!

Since you mentioned going to MGM next year, I am assuming that your plan is to return to WDW. If that return date will be a week under 365 days from your first day in the parks, I would recommend buying APs for everybody and doing it TODAY.

Ticket prices increase tomorrow (Sunday). You can purchase the vouchers online now for today's price. The clock doesn't start ticking on your one year until you activate the passes at WDW.

That way, you'll have unlimited park hopping on this trip, for as many times as you wish to visit the parks. And, you'll have your admission already paid for when the next trip comes up. In the long run, it will come out cheaper.

However, if money is a big factor and there's no room in the budget for APs all around, then I would purchase the most park days that I could afford right now and save any unused days for next year's trip.

and you can afford it, I would get the 7 day PHP.

You say you are going back next year, so you will be able to use the remaining days then. The price per day is cheapest on the 7 day. Also, prices will only go up before your next trip- this way you are locked into this years prices.

Chances are, once you get to WDW, you may get the 'bug' that we all have, and you will want to go more days than you originally planned. This way you will have the extra days available to you.

If you are not sure if you are goin back..... that is a different story.
