We are going to disney from 12/23 to 12/31 with my extended family. 6 people (including myself) are staying onsite while 13 people are staying offsite. For our 12/23 and 12/24 dinners, there will be a total of 19 people :scared1: For my first question, how should we go about making reservations for 19 people? Does the online system allow me to make a reservation for that many? Should we sit at two separate tables with two separate reservations? Any suggestions? I know when testing it out online before my 180 days, the maximum amount the cali grill seemed to let me book was 12 people. If I have to wait to call and speak with a CM at 7:00a.m. instead of doing online 6:00a.m. reservations would I have a low chance of getting popular restaurants?

For my second question, lets say that I had a reservation booked for 13 people but then a couple weeks before the dinner I wanted to change it to 6 people. Would that be a problem or would I lose my reservation all together and have to make a new one with the possibility of not being able to get it at that place and time?

Any suggestions are welcome! Thank you! :)

For your first question, how should we go about making reservations for 19 people?

--You would need to call the reservations line for this. They may have to book you as 2 or 3 groups to accommodate your large party. But if its annotated in their system they will try to keep you together if possible at the restaurant, especially if you book at the opening time that meal is offered. Remember to remind them at checkin that all reservations are for the same party.

--once again, if you know that you will not have the full amount of people, you can call at any time and reduce the number. (I just called and had my reservations changed from 2 to 6 and 6 to 8 yesterday). **One reservation I have 2 tables/reservations thou. When you call for changes, you keep the same reservation & reservation #. Reducing the size allows the restaurant to release that extra table for another deserving family!

Hope this helps!

Thank you! That does help. One more question… Am I allowed to book a reservation for more people who are on my reservations? 6 of us are staying onsite but if I want to make a reservation for 12 or so people could I do that using the 180 plus ten days? I know that anyone can make reservations whether staying at the resort or not, but I am wondering if I will be able to make a reservation for 12 people for, say 12/30 (late in my vacation), using the +10 days or If I would have to wait until exactly 180 days from that date. If that made any sense?

You can make reservations for any number of people you wish and you don't have to wait until exactly 180 days out to do this. Dining reservations can be for more, fewer or the exact number of people on your resort reservation. In fact always make the reservations for the maximum number of people, including infants, who will be at the table because of fire and safety code regulations. You can always call to reduce the number closer to your vacation or show up at the restaurant with fewer than on the reservation.

Great advice, thank you!! :)
