What is YOUR trick to match your makeup to your skintone?

I am not an expensive department store buyer for makeup, I purchase my makeup from Target. (As of now, Covergirl's TruBlend line)

I've never been able to. To me it's worth going to dept stores and having them pick it out for you.

Or try Ulta or Sephora. I do believe they allow you to try on and their prices are better. :)

I agree with Vettechick. When you figure in how MANY bottles you end up buying of non-matching foundation, PLUS finding a blush to match, as well lipstick in the same color family, etc., :headache: it is better to go to a department store ONCE and get one of their professionals to actually try on colors on you. They will also show you how to apply it correctly and how to blend it in. :thumbsup2

Since that time, I have never had to worry if I am wearing the wrong colors  and that even my close friends didn't know how to tactfully tell me.

You can return stuff at CVS so I get it there sometimes & then open up my sunroof natural sunlight is best, but then I look it in regular indoor light too.

I just buy the palest shade Clinique sells. :lmao:

The best way to match is to put several shades in stripes along your jaw. Then take a mirror outside and look. The one that seems to disappear is the right color. It's a pain, but natural light is best and will give the truest representation of the color.
