Help . . . how do you do Disney with really bad morning sickness

I was hospitalized with 2 out of 3 of my kids because of dehydration. Lost over 10 pounds (I am just a little over 100 pounds to begin with, so every pound counted). I took unisom every 6 hours and phenergen and another med which I cannot remember. I could only drink coke - which is suppose to help soothe your stomach. Brushing my teeth made me sick, so I did not do that as often as I should have (8 cavities 9 months later!)

I literally laid on the couch for 5 months. Everytime I would sit up I would start dry heaving....Honestly, I could not go to WDW.

Try unisom - talk to your doc.
Peppermint and coke as some have suggested.
The only thing I could eat, crazy I know, was chips and salsa. Weird, but at least it was calories!

Good luck! Just remember, it is SOOOO worth it. Hang in there!

Actually, during my m/s, one of the few things I could eat was nachos- no idea why and preferaby from taco bell so that i didn't have to wait

I hope that by the time you get to WDW things have eased up! I had really terrible "all day" sickness with all 3 of my sons. Smells would have to be the worst for me, couldn't even grocery shop early in the day when the butcher was in. By ds3 I was able to get by making sure that every morning when I woke up I ate Peanut Butter on dry toast. I also chewed alot of peppermint gum, not only helped with sick feeling but kept alot of heartburn away. I agree with others, letting my stomach even get close to empty was the kiss of death. I probably looked like a fruitcake too, my 2nd ds was born in later June and I would put Vicks on my nose before I went anywhere. I was the only one buying it that time of year. Some really odd looks from cashiers when I would buy 2 different sizes, one for home and one for my purse. But, it was better than throwing up everywhere. I discovered people and places smell really funky sometimes!

Although giving in to the nausea and just throwing up helped too.

I had ads( all day sickness) with 5 pregnancies. I tried everything! Nothing worked! The only thing that made me feel better was throwing up, even if nothing came out. Nothing worst than feeling like you have to throw up all day. I can't stand that feeling. Make sure you have a little something in your stomach, crackers, bread, etc. Even if you don't feel like eating and you want to hurl. If you stomach is empty you will feel more nauseaus and drink plenty of water. feel better

I too had all day nausea with my DD to the point of dehydration and hospitalization, it lasted til the middle of my 7th month. I literally could not get out of bed at all for about 2 months, every time I got up I would puke. As someone before mentioned, try Pepcid AC. My doc said it was safe to take every 12 hours throughout the pregnancy, at least takes the edge off the nausea. Brushing my teeth triggered vomiting for me too, as another poster said, it was like it gagged me, and since I have needed 4 root canals! Smells killed me, especially eggs, and ground beef cooking. The only things I could eat that seemed to help were watermelon and tons of snowballs with marshmallow, egg custard flavor!

I had MS all day every day for six months. I stayed in bed ALOT and left work early many days, I also had to cut down my hours by about half. I dont think I could have made it in Disney for sure. There were trips that I missed that summer because I just felt to sick to go anywhere. I lost weight and did not gain until I was 6 1/2 months....and bellieve me I made up for it:rotfl: :rotfl:

Lemons were the only things that helped me.I would buy a bag of leamons and eat them all day (with a little salt), they gave me heartburn because i would eat soooo many but it was the price I was willing to pay! I ate them in church, in the car, at work, at home, all day! A guy at work bought me one and told me to eat it (his wife had a few kids) and it truly worked for me.

I did wear the sea bands EVERYDAY, but I am not sure how much they helped.......I do think they did a little and at that time even 5% improvement was alot!

I hope you feel better very soon. For me, getting sick instead of fighting it helped. I know it is gross, but it almost became a routine. And I drank liters of lemon flavored seltzer. It is funny to read that lemons help so many people. Smells do trigger the nausea, so try and find something that you can keep in your purse to over power the smells that bother you. Although I know many people who have suffered with nausea and sickness during pregnancy, for most it does subside as the months go on. Hopefully yours will subside soon. Fell better.:goodvibes

I had hyperemesis as well. There is just no way to describe to people just how bad you feel being sick all day everyday, its very draining and wears on you, but you get a big, beautiful reward at the end!

What kind of helped me was:

Zofran
Sour Skittles
Bland crakers with peanut butter
lots of water
giving in and throwing up
mineral or selzer water

Also talk to your dr. don't feel like you should just suffer through,

Best of luck

I have to agree that Zofran is a life saver!! Depending on your level of ms you can talk with your MD about the dose...with DD1 i started with 8mg 2x day and worked down to 4mg in am...with DD2 started with 4mg in am and worked down to 2mg in am...with DD3 2 mg in am from beginning....took for first 20 weeks with all 3....on the lower doses the side effects were minimal...that's why i played with taking as little as needed to get rid of ms...sometimes cutting the pills so small got interesting...but the prescription went a lot further:yay:

Ask about Zofran if you haven't already...If your doctor suggests compazine or reglan which are older drugs with more side effects ask to start with Zofran:)
