Help! How do I get permanent marker off of a dryer??

DH did this recently :headache: He ended up putting a little diluted bleach on a rag and it wiped right up, rinsed with a new clean rag and go to go. Of course I made sure to let it dry and the next load was whites.

OP here. I ended up using rubbing alcohol, they wiping it with water, then running a few old wet towels through the air only cycle and finally on low setting. All set! Thanks for all the tips.:)

Lysol spray! I'm telling you...it's the easiest and fastest way to remove perm. marker off of any smooth surface.

The other day I accidentally used a sharpie on my white erase board (picked up the wrong marker) My husband told me to use the eraseable marker over the sharpie then rewipe. I thought the idea was stupid and wouldn't work but kudo's to my husband it worked like a charm. How do men know these things?? :confused3 So try that.
Definitely try this option first. Magic erasers will dull the surface and everything else may do the same. One of my kids drew stick people all over the place once...I was able to get it off of everything with that and a little windex. The walls required repainting though.

Magic eraser, it will get permanent marker off of things, including walls. Just ask my husband. LOL

Try calling the Sharpie company. DH let the kids get black Sharpie all over my brand new dining room table ... he called Sharpie and they said to use a small amount of rubbing alchohol. It worked.

Yes try rubbing alcohol. Worked on permanent marker for me.

I worked at a dry cleaners in HS and college. Rubbing alcohol takes out ink. It makes it spread at first and to reduce that the cleaners have a vacuum table to suck the running ink out. Then spray on more and suck it out, and keep going til it’s gone.
We dont have that benefit at home so I just pour it on generously and rewash in cold water by itself.

I put rubbing alcohol on the spot with a clean white paper towel under to absorb the ink . Not as good as a vacuum but does help with some spreading.
