Help- hoping to combine conference and disney, Hotel ?

Hi-
My family and I have been to WDW and LOVED it. I have a conference in Cal mid Oct and would like to take my family - husband and 2 kids who are 7 & 10. One of my 1st questions is what would be one of the best hotels to stay at?
I want something that would be convenient for the the convention center and Disney.
I am thinking right in disney may not be the best- at WDW we stayed at Animal Kingdom lodge and loved it.
Any help would be much apprecieted.

We have stayed at the Hilton next to the convention center, and it's an easy walk to Disney. The Hilton has great views of the parks and is very nice. Just be sure and ask for the "Disney view" when booking. Mousesavers.com lists it as a "preferred hotel," and has a code for a special rate. The Sheraton Park is also close to the Convention center and appears to have a good view of the parks, but I've never stayed there.

I have attended many conferences in Anaheim while my family plays in DL! The resort hotels are not that far away--the last conference I attended in April, we stayed at the GCH. Since I could claim parking as a work expense, I drove to the convention center a couple of times. Also, depending on how large your convention is, there might be a bus to transport people to the different hotels and to the parks. One time we stayed at the Residence Inn and I took the convention bus. I am a chemist, so the convention was quite large (around 15,000) so there was always free transportation to and from the convention center.

I always try to stay pretty close to the park for the family---I can always get myself to meetings!!
