to an ill friend. Any ideas of who on line I can order from that's less than $40 with shipping?

thanks so much. darn budget. :((((

Any other limitations due to the illness other than non-floral?

I've used Fairytale Brownies before for office gifts and was very happy.

Not sure brownies and cookies would work though depending on the illness.

I also love Harry & David items. I've ordered from them online before, but not in a gift basket scenario - just items to be delivered.

Check out mrsfields.com. I love their cookie/brownie baskets and it's easy to find one within your budget.

Discount codes available: PAR1 gives you $5 off $25 or more, CWC2 will give you 15% off.

Edible Arrangements
start at $24 plus $12 delivery fee
and you can often find coupon codes online

If you are a Costco member you can send a $30 gift tower (shipping and handeling included) from The Fruit Company (but from Costco's website). It comes with pears, apples, and a few snack treat items. It is marketed as a Mother's Day gift but does not say Happy Mother's Day on it. :) I just sent one to my sister for her birthday.

Neuske's has wonderful selections of food items. They are high quality, come in a range of prices and are very reliable. The kringle are great!

If you want a stunning box of chocolates, check out Christopher Elbow. Clearly a choice where quality reigns over quantity.

I second this recommendation. I have sent Costco baskets and towers several times with good results. Another nice thing about Costco is that the price you see on the website is the actual price: there is no separate shipping fee. So if it's a $30 gift basket, you pay $30. I find that the shipping charges from other distributors tend to negate any benefit you get from their 20%-off coupons that lure you in.
