We leave in 9 days for my very first trip to Disney.... I know this is a really bad time BUT we got a awsome deal on this 7 day trip that we could not pass up...So.... I am freaking out that the crowds are going to be sooo bad that I will not be able to see anything or enjoy Disney... Please help de-stress me.... Here is my plan so far....

We get there Sat.... Late afternoon... Meet up with the rest of the group and head to Downtown Disney

Sunday we are off to the Blizzard Beach....

Monday MGM Studios

Tue Magic Kingdom

Wed Epcot

Thur Animal Kingdom

Fri Universal and head home later that night...

I have picked these parks on these days according to the crowd level charts for each park and also EMH.... NOW with that being said we have a list of our "MUST DO's" which really is not that long.... And we have hopper passes so we can hop from park to park... We are planning to do Fantasmic one night at 10 the later show and eat before that at MGM 50's PTD.... Also planning to see the fireworks at MK and Epcot at night.... I know all about fast pass... Anything I am missing..... I know to be there first thing in the morning before the park opens... We are planning to head back to the resort for snacks and nap/swin in the early afternoon and back to the parks after that.... PLEASE help....... Help me make the most of my trip... I am soooo worried... Thanks :sad2:

This seems small but to help with rides utilize Fast Pass. When used correctly this can help get you in and out of rides faster than you imagine.

The unofficial guide to WDW has excellent plans for helping make the most of your trip. You can find it at most large booksellars.

Good Luck. I hope your trip is wonderful!

Try not to worry!! You'll get to see some things - maybe not all but then, that's a great reason to come back isn't it??!!

Next week is most of Georgia's spring break. It will be crowded, but not nearly as crowded as the weeks before and after Easter. The Key is going to the parks as early as possible. Take a break in the afternoon to swim b/c it's going to be pretty warm! Then you can go back at night. We'll be there Sun. - Sat. and go every year this same week. Nothing is as bad as July!

:wave2:

My family is going from April 12 through April 19. All of those days are listed as 10 on the crowd scale.

Since it's Easter weekend and spring break, it's an ideal time for my family due to time off. Sometimes you just can't control when it's convenient for your family to go.

Just plan a strategy and see everything you MUST see. Make your reservations and relax and have fun. Even with the crowds, Disney is amazing. :wizard:

Reading your post, it seems to me like you've got your plans made pretty good. You didn't mention meal reservations for the parks, and I would recommend a dinner reservation at each, especially if you think you might want to spend the day in the park. (And you may well want to do just that ... it eats up quite a bit of time to travel back and forth to your resort in the middle of the day.)

Someone advised you to get a copy of the UNOFFICIAL GUIDE. That's really good advice. The book, by Bob Sehlinger, is excellent and will help you make plans. Probably the best $20.00 you'll spend before traveling to Walt Disney World.

I hope y'all have a super time.

Enjoy.

The last 2 times we went during July 4th week. We got ALOT done. Used EMH (morning) and FP's. We had a great time and did most things we wanted to (and some more than we wanted to!!!)

It will be great. Hey....You are going to WDW!!!

Take a big step back and a deep breath. Exhale slowly. Take it from a veteran (45 trips so far), you'll never get to see and do everything. Do the things that are important to you and your family. Focus on those. Sounds like you have a list and that's what you should do. To heck with everyone else! This is your vacation. See and do what you can and what you want. Relax.

THANK YOU!!! I am feeling a little better.... (Ask me again this time next week when I am chopping at the bit to leave) I am very excited... I dont have many "must do's" and I really enjoy walking around and looking at everything so.... We dont have meal reservation because we are planning to try and use the snacks and food we are taking with us.... We are planning on eating at 50's Prime Time one night and are making arrangements today for that.... Thanks again for all the hints....
If you have more hints please share... Thanks.....

My next trip will be my 7th trip in 8 years. Average stay 7 days. I have yet to see it all.

Relax and enjoy the things you do get to do.

Just make sure you go to the park before it opens. You can get more done in the morning than most get done all day. Also do not foget that when it is busy, Disney runs at full capacity. They have more lines open, more staff on and longer hours.

Since you don't have reservations to work your days around, I would suggest maybe using the reverse-EMH strategy. Avoid the park with EMH's as, theoretically, most everyone who is staying on Disney property will be headed there.

If not, keep your commitment to get there at opening and you will get a ton done before noon.

Right now we are planning to be there bright and early.. 15-20 min before park opens... This way we can get our "park entrance" pictures.. HA HA... Cant you tell this is the first time for me.... But we plan on hitting parks with EMH first thing and try and get somethings done.. We are young so running is not out of the question.. Just kidding...(Well maybe not once I get there) Then if the park fills up we plan on hopping around just to get all of our "must do's" out of the way early in the week... There are not many so thats not going to be a issue.. Really I have never seen any of it so everything is going to be new to me.. I am just going to relax and enjoy being part of the magic... :wizard:

You might also want to buy access to Tour Guide Mike (board sponsor - see the top of the page). Even with this last minute planning he gives great advice on what parks to visit on what days and he has some wonderful sample touring plans. I've used him on my last 3 trips with great success.

See you down there!

Selket... I will be the 26 year old chick screaming at the gates of Magic Kingdom... HA HA... And my DBF will be the guy trying to hide in the bushes... HE HE HE... I think I will more than likely tear up at first sight of the castle... I have worked myself up soooo much about the whole trip... I cant wait!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc
