Can anyone tell me about these two places? I'm having a really hard time coming up with a TS place. It's a Friday night. Can't be in MK since it's a MNSSHP night and we're not going that night. Five people, 2 of which are 12 year old twin boys. One of whom eats like a longshoreman. Also Grandma who won't eat at buffets. Can't be too pricy. We're at Tony's Town Square the night before.
We're staying at WL. Artist's Point is too pricy for this trip, WCC is out for a whole bunch of reasons. I'm looking at resorts because I don't know where we will be that day and don't know if the boys will have hoppers or not.

Advice? Opinions? We'll have a car too so if it's a place I can drive to easily I'm open to that as well.

Of those 2, I would pick GF cafe in a minute. YC Gallery is good, but lacks much in the way of decor. You could be in any hotel anywhere in the USA.

If you can get a table toward the back and near the window at GF Cafe, that would be great. The view of the grounds is beautiful.

Have you thought about someplace on the Boardwalk like Spoodles? It is a nice place to visit on a Friday evening. The boys might like ESPN Club, too.

Spoodles was actually the first place I thought of but then I looked at the menu and it's really limited. I know one of the boys would find nothing he'd eat on it. ESPN club has the right menu but no reservations and Grandma is going. Don't think she'd like it.
I'm tempted to just toss up my hands and drag them all to Chef Mickey's and dare any of them to complain about it! :rotfl:

I don't consider either place inexpensive, with entrees ranging from $11 for a burger to $26.00.

I did find the portions at the Galley to be more plentiful than the Cafe.

Of course you're right but in terms of TS places on property they're lower than a lot of other places. If you can think of some others by all means recommend them to me please! I've got the whole problem of having to please kids and grandma, which is tricky.

I have done YC Galley only and was pleasantly surprised on how good the meal was. I had picked the Galley because we were at Sea World all day and wanted to stay at the hotel for dinner, I wasn't expecting too much but it was great, from service to food. The kids dessert was really cool, white chocolate that they got to paint. To be fair I have never been to GF Cafe.

I ate at the GF cafe last week for the first time (didn't eat there when I stayed at GF last year). I was skeptical before trying it out, but let me tell you..the service was outstanding (i think our waiter's name was seth..I could be wrong. but he had just graduated college like me so we were talking about future plans). He was very attentive and friendly. The food was very good too! My parents and I all enjoyed our dishes - I got roasted chicken. the mashed potatoes were great.

I definitely recommend dining there!!

Now that sounds like something the boys would like! I never have any trouble getting them to eat mashed potatoes at my table.

We ate at Grand Floridian cafe before MNSSHP last year and loved it. The food and service were excellent. It was our first time eating there and we will be back in the future. :)

Oh I agree that the prices are in line with all TS at Disney. I just did not want you to expect different if you were not familar with either place.

We like both, eat at both often. We found the Galley to be more to our liking as we got better service and large portions.

But either is a good choice. Kona Cafe is good also, you might check the menu for there. The Mayan Grill at Coronado Springs is really good as is Boatwrights at Port Orleans Riverside.

Olivia's at Old Key West is also another good choice.

Go to the GF Cafe, then you can have chocolate fondue for dessert!!

I haven't even been there, but I'm seriously changing one of my ADR's to go to the GF Cafe, after all the good things I've heard about it. :cool1:
