hey there!

We have a dinner ADR for Kona after spending the day at AK, but I'm confused as to how I'll get from the Polynesian to POR afterwards?

Now, it's our 1rst trip to WDW so forgive me if I get it mixed up (LOL) but in looking at the map, am I best to go from the restaurant to Epcot first, and then take a bus back to Riverside? or am I missing something?

All my other ADRs look pretty straightforward, but this one has me boggling!:confused3

TIA!

From ohana we got the monorail back to epcot and then got the normal resort bus back to POFQ.

If you're at Kona, you can ride the Resort monorail over to the MK. Then, get on your Resort bus there.

More experienced Dis'rs will give you better advice but here are my thoughts. I was at WDW in June 10. I stayed at POR too! Acadian House, wonderful.
If you don't mind going the long way: I would take the DownTown Disney bus from the Poly then take water bus from Marketplace to POR.
Check on the times - I think the water bus runs until 11:00pm. I loved the water bus and would stay at POR or that reason alone.
Have a great trip!

Just as simple to take the boat (out the back of the Poly - for lovely and relaxing ride) OR monorail ( more often - easiest) over to the MK and then jump on a POR bus.

Have fun.

Simplest:
Boat or Monorail from Polynesian to MK
Bus from MK to POR

Kona is awesome! I love the strip steak with pineapple teryaki!

The fastest easiest way is to walk a few feet out the door where u get the monorail to MK then bus to POR. There is no easier way besides a cab.

I stayed at POR a couple weeks ago but did two trips to the Poly and I did it both ways. Taking a monorail to MK and then a bus to POR or POFQ even was much, much faster than DTD bus and then the boat. I waited at the Poly for more than 30 min for a DTD bus, every other bus but that one came. Then once at DTD it was close to 45 min wait 9long backed up line) for the boat with takes 25 minute to get to POR. Nice boat ride, but not always the fastest route. I do like that at least at POR there is more than one option to get back home.

I lucked out when there was an at least 2 bus wait for POR from MK I hopped on a bus to POFQ with only on other family intending to walk or get the boat back to POR. The driver said it's right next door, I'll drop you there. It was a truly unexpected magical moment since I had recently fell down stairs and severely injured a leg that was not doing well that night from over doing it. The driver made my night!

This is good to know! We're thinking of adding Kona Cafe to our trip for dinner and was wondering the very same thing. We may just take a taxi to the Poly (we are probably going from POR, after resting in our room from a tiring day at one of the parks), but getting back to POR, we could do a more leisurely ride back.

LOL -- okay, now you all have me confused!

Some say Epcot, then bus to POR... others say MK and then bus.

Are they actually the same distance, time-wise? As always, I defer to the experts! :worship:

The Kona Cafe is located right next to the monorail stop to Magic Kingdom. You take the monorail to Magic Kingdom (it will stop briefly at the Grand Floridian) and then will go to Magic Kingdom. You can then go to the bus stops. This is the fastest and easiest way without a cab.

Options
Certainly a person can take the EPCOT monorail- but this is located at the Ticket and Transportation Center- this is not right next to the Kona Cafe.

If you want to take a look around at the Poly and check out the pool (worth doing). Walk to the "volcano" pool, take a boat to Magic Kingdom and then take a bus. This is not the "fastest" way, but it is pleasant and pretty fast.

A person can also take a bus to Downtown Disney and the boat ride back to the hotel. This is pleasant. Not as fast.

I love Kona. The butter alone is worth a trip to Disney.

gotcha, and thx for directions. We'll be doing the boat ride to/from DTD on another day, so I'll get that done as well :)

I couldn't have said it better myself because that's the best advice for the OP to do.

Bus to Downtown Disney and then the boat to POR. We have also taken a cab back to our resort from Kona in the past . It will cost you around $10.
