Hi. We are a family of 5. My husbands parents lives of Florida. We are flying into Orlando and using Magical Express. My husbands parents meet us at the parks and every night one of the kids sleep over with them for "their visit". Anyway when we register with Disney , we only register 4 people because there is never a 5th person. We buy the extra ticket at the park. My husbands parents refuse to drive to the airport(actually they are afraid of the airport) We cant figure out what to do, since my one daughter is not actually registered. Should we rent a car for one day? How much does a taxi cost. We always drove down to Florida except for our cruises, so we never ran into this problem

Where is your daughter located at the parents resident? Are you trying to get the daughter from Disney to the airport?

I think they want to use Magical Express. Since their parents won't drive to the airport, they have a 5th person to transport at the beginning and end of their trip, but only four on their Disney reservation.

It's easy. Go to the Mears desk when you arrive at MCO. Purchase a round trip Mears ticket. Your daughter then will ride on the Magical Express bus with you.

Is there a mears desk at all the resorts? We are staying at Pop.

Not necessarily. Some people have reported being placed on the same bus - others have said they were on a separate bus. If you are comfortable sending one child alone on a bus, fine. If not, send one of the parents on the Non-Magical Express ride in case you are not on the same bus.

There's not a Mears desk at any of the resorts. The person said to go to the mears desk at MCO, the airport.

There's no need for a Mears desk at WDW resorts because of the existence of DME. But by the way, there's no DME desk, either. Front Desk and/or Guest Services CMs at the resorts can answer most general DME questions, and can help you find the answers to more complex DME questions.

Call Disney and ask. Its not like they are going to bust you and cancel your reservation.

Would this work: Its either you or DH who is not on the room ressie. This prevents having a child travel alone.

Going to Disney, you (or DH) play dumb and go to the Mears desk pretending to be alone while the rest of the family goes to the ME desk (the desks are right next to each other).

Some other choices if you run into difficulty with ME (need to put the plan in action a few hours before the rest of the family leaves on ME):

Returning home, have your parents (in law) take you you or DH to the Swan or Dolphin or Bonnet Creek (not on the ME circuit) to catch Mears which you reserved at least a day in advance.

Returning home, get behind the wheel and drive your parents (in law) and their car to the airport, stopping at a location that offers the quickest drive back out. (You might circle the airport roadways a coupl'a times to scout out the three best locations.) Choose one, go to it, get out, your FIL slides over into the driver's seat, and leaves.

In the pre-ME days you telephoned Mears from your resort to set up the return trip. I'm not sure whether, if you do that nowadays, Mears will simply say they don't service that resort.
