We're staying standard and I wanted to find out what area of the GC has the most accessible rooms to the park, etc. I've heard you can get stuck in Siberia and I'd like to avoid that. I got through 20 pages or so on the GC SuperThread, but there are 159 pages and I just don't have the time. We leave on Monday. Thanks!

I've always stayed with a courtyard view (standard) and it never seems like a far walk to me. :)

I'm also staying later this month....I'm on pg 79 of the thread! :) People on the thread are recommending you suggest a room close to the main elevators for quick access to the parks. Good luck!

This is not a link to the superthread but a different one from last month that I thought was helpful enough to bookmark. It should answer your question.

Hope it helps. I am staying at the GC for the first time next time I go. Unfortunately, I thought that was going to be in October but work is getting too busy to go :sad1:. Perhaps January...

Thanks so much for the link. I'm still a bit confused though because the map in the link didn't show where the parks were or DTD. I'm a bit directionally challenged. I'm thinking the letter E is for Elevator? Is there only one? I'm hearing stay close to the main elevator, but I don't know where on the map that is.

Any more tips would be great!

Pretty sure there are two banks of elevators.

One set is near the entrance to DCA. It's also close to the pools.

The other set is just off the main lobby. This is closer to DTD and to DL.

If you have a strong preference, ask for it, but if you simply ask to be relatively close to elevators, you won't be stuck in "Siberia".

tholczer - in the link I gave you ther is ANOTHER link that someone posted with info on the DVC Villas. Click on that one - it has a big red circle that shows where the DCA entrance is.

Also, I read somewhere that the earlier you check in in the day the better chance you have of getting room requests filled.
