Help me please. I started scrapbooking a couple years ago and the started with my daughter's school years and then my son's baseball/football. But all the pages are 8 1/2 x 11. I'm feeling bad because everything now it seems is 12 x12. I'm torn in repasting the old on 12x12 pages or have some books small and small larger. I know this sounds dumb, but it's keping me from going in my craft room. I feel I have to make a decision. :confused3
thanks for listening.

You can certainly have more then one book. Or you can trim the 12x12 papers to fit 8.5x11. Or you can get a 12x12 book and put the smaller pages in it and continue at 12x12. Don't stress over it, just scrap at which ever size you are more comfortable making. Size doesn't matter!! :lmao:

the first several scrapbooks I have are 8.5x11, I also now have 12x12, 6x6, 8x8... paper bag books, tag books... do what makes you happy. :) maggie

Why not have all different size books. While I primarily have 12 x 12's, I also have 6 x6's and plan on doing some 8 x 8's. And you can use your 8 1/2 by 11 papers in 12 x 12 books. Just layer the papers on cardstock. I wouldn't start over again.

Besides, I think it is fun to see how your scrapbooking style has evolved over the years. I was just looking at my first scrapbook the other day. OMG has my style evolved. I think that the way we scrapbook tells a story in itself about the artist.

I do most of my scrapbooking 8.5 x 11. I like the fact the the 8.5 x 11 albums fit better on my shelves. I've also done a few 8x8 albums. AC Moore & Michaels have good selections of both 8.5x11 and 12x12 papers and cardstocks, so go with whatever size you like best.

I'm another one for multiple sizes. I do 8x8 for the kids because they are easier to hold in their little hands. And I do 12x12 for things that I have a ton of photos for like Disney trips. But I also have 6x6, 4x4, 7x9 etc......

My first ever scrapbook was in 2000 and it was 8.5 x 11. I never even thought about changing it:). I do mostly 12 x 12 now, but I am also working on an 8 x 8 as a gift for my sister, and I have another 8 x 8 that I am doing as kind of a journal/here's who your mother is for my kids to have someday when I'm gone.

There's no rule that all the albums have to be the same size.....this is a hobby that should be fun, not a source of stress. Do whatever makes you happy!

I concur with what everyone else said. :goodvibes I do multiple size, though my yearly and vacation albums are 12 x 12, I have 7 x7, 8 x 8, 4 x 6, those are usually for a small event, ie baseball season, a special birthday. Whichever I want to do at the time.

Another vote for multiple sizes!!! I've yet to do 8.5 x 11...but that is my next venture!!! I do have 12 x 12, 8 x 8, 10 x 10, paper page albums, tag books. Several smallers ones that I have received as gifts.

:)

I feel the same way about the first album I made. It was back in '93 and there just weren't that many supplies out there (at least not around here anyway). My first album was an 8.5 x 11 and when I look at it I always have this overwhelming urge to do it over.

Then I think about it and realize that it's just a reflection of the times and that's exactly what scrapbooking is all about.

I'm also another scrapper who makes albums in all sizes...but I will admit that the 12 x 12 is my favorite!

I only do 12x12, but when I first started 8.5x11 was all there was, so the first few years worth are that size. I wouldn't change them. As all have said, it is a progression of how times and styles have changed.

Thanks for all the support and encourgement. Went to Michaels today and picked up a few things, came home set to sort our pics and send them to Walgreens to pickup and then scrap for the rest of the day, but I got home to no cable, no phone and no internet. Ugh stupid Comcast!! So I had to wash dishes, clean up and read a book until the internet finally came back on just in time for my ds to come home. Looking forward to tomorrow!!
