:thumbsup2 I just thought I'd give an update to anyone interested.

Awhile back I posted a question on Loud noises and fireworks with babies and toddlers. A fellow Diser suggested that I use Peltor Ear Defenders, which I did purchase on Ebay.

Well, they worked great!! For the first time ever my daughter was able to enjoy The Canada Day (July 2nd) fireworks display and not get freaked out by the noise. The loud noises scare her and she's usually unable to watch because she gets so worked up.

I just wanted to say thank you for the suggestion and pass along the tip. I will be bringing these on our trip in January 2007. I'm sure I'll find it usefull on most of the attractions as well because they are all quite loud.

Wowwwwwwww. :cool1: :cool1:
I've been hunting for months for a pair of ear muffs for my noise sensitive son for our upcoming trip. I've just stumbled on your post and followed the link as I noticed it said ".co.uk".
Would you believe the headquaters for this make is in the village next to mine, 5 min drive from me. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would ever see a link on the worldwide Dis boards to little old Lancing here in the UK.
Anyway, will be visiting tomorrow.
Thankyou so much

I think that's so neat that you live close by to the factory! I guess I shouldn't be surprised "It's a Small World after All"!!

Just a few tips that helped us:

We started to get my daughter used to the ear muffs right away. We told her she had a present to open. Who doesn't like presents!!

We made it fun for her to wear them... We played little gameslike "Can you hear me now!!" Or she's have the ear muffs on and we would pretend to talk.... (she thought it was hilarious :)

But honestly the proof was in the pudding..once she was able to watch the fireworks and not be frightened by them I knew I had made a good purchase. I even bought a pair for my yet to born new baby.

p.s. It' only took them a couple of weeks to reach me in Canada.

They are extremely light weight and quite affordable. If anyone is interested to a link on ebay where I purchased them pm me and I'll let you know!

Update: I bought them after work today and the guy who sold them to me said he had used them for his kids to all kinds loud events and thought it was a great idea for WDW. He was amazed his business had appeared on this site!
Anyway thanks for your tip on hoe to introduce them. I haven't shown them to my son yet as I am trying to think of the best way to do it. First impressions seem to be everything to him. I was going to make a game of it but couldn't think of one - your's is a good one
Another good thing, I didn't have to pay the £3.25 postage and packaging
