Im not familiar with staying off site but hope someone can help. They are staying at the Radisson celebration in kissimee. They arrive on the 30/12 for 12 nights before going on a 2 week carribean cruise. Its there first visit.
They have bought an all in one ticket wdw seaworld universal. They were told by the TA that they have to activate the tickets before 1st jan as they are 2014 tickets. Presume this is correct. Bit of a rush if you ask me for all parks.
How do they link this ticket to FP+? I have told them to open a MDE account. Not sure how these tickets work.
Also can anyone recommend any sites for vouchers to eat off site as they plan to eat mainly off site. I have told them it will be hectic. They wont have a car either. Will it ease off crowd wise after new year? Just dont know where to start as never been this time of year and no good with off site.

I'm a bit confused.

Do they have a universal/seaworld/disney pass? Or just a seaworld/Universal pass? If it is the second one, what does it have to do with FP+? If it's the first, my guess is, it's a voucher and they can't be linked. You have to wait until you get there, get an actual disney ticket then link that to MDE.

I agree, in the few days they have in Orlando, It will be a rush to do 7 parks but each to his own. First timers often make this mistake and try to do everything.

I have NOT heard good things about that hotel - perhaps rethinking that is the best advice you could offer?
Without a car I would advise them to consider International Drive. Much more accessible.

Kath Its all booked. Shes a work colleague and to be honest I think they just want a base. The ticket I think is a voucher . Oh dear not good. I really wish they had researched but she said the TA ad vised all this. Kerching comes to mind. It was all booked before she asked me anything. Looks like lots of queueing and patience. It takes me a year to plan and after 15 years still ask loads of questions

FP+ has nothing to do with universal or seaworld. The TA have sold her one of these all in one jobs. I would have helped her but she booked everything over the weekend.

TA sounds awful - they have to use those tickets by 31/12?! A mid-winter peak-season flight delay isn't exactly inconceivable - and if they do get delayed, they will lose £700+ of tickets! Cutting it fine!

The best advice you can give them is generic: restaurants, arrive early, don't try to do it all. Not my idea of a good trip but hey :confused3

It's difficult to know without knowing exactly what the ticket is. But it sounds like their first full day they need to do one Universal park, one WDW park and Sea world to get the voucher turned into real tickets. Without a car that will be a pain. Even with a car that's a pain and the parks reach capacity on NYE.....

Previous posters are correct. All inclusive tickets (WDW, USF, SW) are not just "one big ticket", they are separate tickets for each Resort

so 2014 tickets need to be activated before january 1st 2015
This means that they will need to go to Universal AND seaworld AND a Disney park on the 31st of december, at a very busy time and without a car.

that will cost them more in taxi fares than the price difference between a 2014 and a 2015 tickets

Chances are the TA billed them a 2015 ticket price and sold them 2014 to make a small profit, but basically I'd say that the TA screwed them big time ...

now it really depends on the tickets (flexticket or whatever) but there is no WDW + Universal ticket per se. They're 2 separate tickets, so they need to be activated before the end of the year

Your colleague needs to insist the TA replaces the tickets with 2015 tickets, or they will be spending their first day in Florida on the road not doing anything, and possibly end up paying for a new set of tickets if a park reaches capacity and they can't activate a ticket.
They will already spend lots of time in transportation for a not-so-nice hotel ...

Agreed, it's the TAs problem, that ticket was completely mis sold. A complaint to someone senior/public should sort it if the TA won't.

As a worse case, I'm positive that the parks will allow the difference to be paid for a 2015 ticket anyway, especially of contacting in advance. They want you in their parks not turned away.

Yes the parks quieten down from January 1st but the Brazillian tour groups arrive.

They need to rent a car or they are going to spend an absolute fortune on taxis.

They have the NYE MK fireworks on the 30th Dec as well as the 31st.

perhaps they could go back to the TA and ask to upgrade the voucher to the 2015 one. That would solve many problems.

It does indeed look as thought they have been sold "package" of tickets, meaning on their first day they will have to visit at least one Disney Park AND at least one other park, depending on the tickets. All on New Year Eve. Without a car. Not reasonable. They need to get back to the TA and insist on 2015 tickets, or, better yet, buy their own. If they have 12 days, EITHER the Disney ticket OR the Universal ticket should suffice.

Kath I have expressed everyones advice but she has been convinced by the TA that its the right thing. All i can do is try and help her plan her days. She has no idea poor soul how busy the first few days will be but She says they are prepared for a hectic few days. Thank you guys for all your help. Im glad I plan for 12 months as we can never know enough

The combo ticket is 2 tickets,so the travel agent has sold them the 2014 ticket which has to be activated on or before the 31st! December
I would go back and ask for the ticket to be changed to 2015 one since no way are they getting into disney on new yrs eve.

It looks like the seaworld ticket could get activated when universal ticket is,which would only leave 2 parks to activate, but either way that's alot of running around to do,at the busy time of yr.
I don't envy that trip.

I'm not so sure it will be that much of a problem really.
I was a bit unwell on holiday in 2013 and missed out going to universal so still had my 2013 ticket when we went back in April this year.
After a quick visit to guest services at the park it was re-issued no problem at all.
Not sure if all the parks are the same but I wouldn't be too worried.
She could maybe email them and ask.

Hiya Alyson. Hope your all well?

When people go for the first time they think im crazy when I tell them about all the planning needed, they think they are just going to show up and happy days get on all the rides etc. mmm might be in for a shock. Same as people don't realise how far apart things are, it's a major pain without a car.
It's still pretty busy for around 5 days after new year, I remember one year we didn't visit the parks until 5 or 6 days after and it was still mega busy. It could just be the disney tickets that have to be activated by the end of the year, all you can do is let her know, if she doesn't want to question her TA then she's going to have a few problems when she arrives.

They don't need any numbers etc for FP+ just sign up an account as they are staying off site and can book from 30 days.

New Years Eve with be massively busy. The parks usually reaches capacity by 10:00 a.m. At which point all guest who are staying offsite are not allowed admittance to the park and are turned away at the toll booth. She does not stand a chance of using her WDW ticket on NYE. I would ask TA for refund or switch the tickets to 2015 ones.

I personally would avoid going to the parks that day. It will be so crowded and hard to move around.

Here is a news article about NYE 2013 Scroll down and see the line just for bag check at Epcot!!!!!! and the over head picture of what MK looks like with all the people!
