We are traveling to Disneyland in December as my husband is graduating from a Cali college and we have decided to participate in his Graduation ceremony. Our dates for travel are Dec. (13) 14 - Dec (26) 27 with eleven days in the park. I guess my dilemma is how close should we stay near the park. Every time I think I have it figured out I hear "Stay across the street" in my head... this being my dilemma.

I got a terrific rate at Best Western raffles for a 2 bedroom for 1555.00 and it includes breakfast. I figured it is not that far to walk a couple of times for our mm days (Two sets of Parkhoppers - long story), and then take the toy story shuttle for rests etc.

I also have the portofino as an option for 1852.00 closer but no meals.

The Islander is a possibility at 1926.81

The Del Sol is across the street and the kids suite (2 queens & bunk beds) is 1535.00 including parking, safe, tax and has a small bkfst.

If it helps - 2 Adults, and all girls 17, 15, 11 and 7 (will be turning 8 on our trip).

Originally we were going to do the beginning of our trip in Buena Park close to DH's graduation but I think it might be more of a hassle. Most of the Hotels directly across the street are over $2,000.

Oldest DD is graduating HS and I have a feeling this is the last family trip we have all together.

All perspectives welcome ... I know 11 days may seem like a long time however we did 6 last trip and missed quite a bit plus this is most likely our last trip as a family since my eldest is :headache: "getting to old for such things" :sad2:

You can try Carousel (right across the street). They have a micechat rate for standard rooms. If you're not likely to take frequent breaks during the day, hotels within shuttle distance aren't too bad. It might be a bit annoying waiting for a shuttle with hordes of others. Only you can determine if price is more important than location.

Sounds like a wonderful trip!

I would investigate getting two standard rooms. I'm sure the two older girls would LOVE to have their own room. Maybe they could offer a slumber party on the youngest birthday?! That would be fun. Or let the adults have the room to themselves? Maybe then you could balance the cost vs distance a little better. For that long of a trip, I would think the hotel breakfast would be pretty useless unless it was a cook to order scenario. Pastries and toast are going to get really old really quick. And being closer will allow you to take afternoon breaks which the youngest two are still likely to need.

We're staying at BW Raffles in December. While it isn't right across the street from the park, it is right across the street from the disneyland parking lot. We just plan to walk to the parking lot and take the free tram to the park.
