Back in 2003 while at WDW my DW experienced severe blistering on her feet. I thought we took proper precautions by purchasing and breaking in shoes, wearing wicking socks and having mole skin ready for use. Even with these precautions she got blisters so bad we would have to leave the parks early. I read a thread about a stick that runners use to prevent blisters. A person had used it and did not get any blisters. We are going back to the World in June/July of this year and I would love to purchase some of these sticks for our protection. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

and the stick he uses is called body glide. You can get this at technical running stores. He uses this to keep the shirt from chafing his tender chest area and rubs it on his inside of his upper arm to keep shirt seams from chafing against his arm while running (arms pumping back and forth). I have not heard about using this for blisters though. Maybe someone else will post. CindyML

Yep body glide for blisters and for chafing and all the uncomfy rubbings we get when hot and sweat at the world.

I didn't try the body glide but did try antiperspirant for the same cause and it worked well for me last Aug. Used it on feet every morning and again in the afternoon before returning to the parks after our break. Some says you got to becareful using this tho as it can cause swelling

Something else that is very important is to change shoes midday and rotate your shoes DH and I took 3 pairs to the world in Aug changed midday every day and did not wear the shoes again for like a day and half. They was all the same kind of shoe same style but seemed to make a difference.

Oh and also the coolmax socks are GREAT they expensive but I loved the couple pairs I took I'll be buyin more for my next vist and I also left the coolmax socks in my luggage so I not wearing them out at home.

I got a terrible blister in October wearing shoes I thought I had broken in (but hadn't, obviously!).

I wish I had brought my oldest, crummiest pair of sneakers (which I had worn with no problems at WDW three years before!). I brought my regular workout shoes instead, which I wear 4 or 5 times a week. Well, walking 45 minutes on a treadmill is nothing compared to walking several miles a day in the parks. I had brought moleskin, too, but the blister popped up before I realized it. I finally ended up switching to my most comfortable flip-flops the last two days.

So my advice is: use moleskin as a preventive measure, rather than waiting until something seems sore, and wear your oldest shoes (even if they aren't very pretty anymore!). Your feet will thank you!

Another thing u can do to help the blister issue beside the glide is start walking a few miles every day with the footwear you r bringing to disney,,, this will help harden your feet for all the walking a person does at wdw,,,, another thing that a foot doc friend of mine told me long ago is that most folks don't buy the correct size footwear.. he told me that if a shoe is uncomfortable from the getgo, then a person did not buy the correct size,,, footwear should be comfortable from the beginning.

Check out CROCKS shoes. My mother wore them for the first time in WDW and had no problems with blisters or sore feet.

None of the stores where i live carry bodyglide....so i did a search...and bought it through Amazon...i look forward to using it during our trip next month....
I've read RAVE reviews on the product...runners using it...to prevent blistering on the feet and elsewhere....
hope it helps....

If you don't have them yet use the body glide. If they have formed already then moleskin is THE lifesaver. You can sometimes forget you even have one. Seriously.

I think I would evaluate WHERE the blisters are, and buy shoes that don't rub that area of the foot. I get blisters on the back of my heel, so I have sandals and athletic shoes with no back. My Easy Spirit athletic shoes have a soft strap across the back and I wear them with low socks and haven't had any blisters. I also have good results from Birkenstock sandals with the soft footbed.

I have a can of spray antiperspirant/deodorant that I always bring but we haven't ever really used it. Next trip is in August so we might need it then.

Band-Aid makes some little pads called Blister Shield that I also bring just in case, along with mole skin.

Target has coolmax socks at very reasonable prices. They have packages of women's "footie" socks at about the same price as their other socks. Look closely at the labels, though - they are often mixed among the other, regular socks. I love them!

We took Body Glide with us last time and will never be without it again. 0 blisters, 0 chafing.

Another thing you might do is look into Wright socks. These are athletic socks which are made with double-layer sole protection to lessen friction and reduce the chance for blistering. I have some and like them very much.
