I am going to WDW soon with my 2 children, 1 of whom has autism. He also has sensory integration issues. He "freaks out" when he becomes overloaded, and has no concept of waiting. I've been told there are passes or some form of assistance that would allow him to access rides via handicap entrances or something. Does anyone know if this is true, what it is called, what do I need to prove his disability, etc.? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome!!! No problem, we have the information you need. I have an 8-yr-old son, also autistic, we have been many times. :)
Check out the FAQ (see the link in my signature - just click on it!) where we have collected some tips and info about dealing with sensitive children, the GAc, staring, etc...

we have a son that has autism age 7 and been to disney twice with him.....we got him a special stroller that fit his size of him....the stroller can hold uptill 75 pounds.....and he love it....we use the stroller has a wheelchair.....we also get the dissablity pass from guest relation and have them write on it that the stroller is use has a wheelchair and he has autism and anywhere we go inside places that we are not made to park the stroller outside the show that the stroller comes right in places like a wheelchair......we allso bring a slinkly for him to play with when we are walking around the park........with a dissablity card saying he has autism we get on the rides without to much wait....they have us go though the fastpass line.........allso bring from home there favorite snack becouse you may not get down in florida....we had that problem when it came to finding johnathan favorit food......they did not sell what i was looking for.......learn that the hard way.......allso we go when it off season down at wdw becouse we find it easy for us to explore the park with out being to crowded....allso are the carector meals we told our person serving us that our son had autism and has a hard time in a restorauts and they would tell the carectors to come to our table as soon has possable so we would get out of the restorants so that johnathan would not go crazy there.......sometime he does go crazy......if you have anymore questions i would be glad to help.......tammie
