Hi there!
Myself and my twin sister are doing a sort of split trip and staying in Disneyworld Orlando for 6 nights and then flying to Disneyland for 2 nights. We have been to Disneyland in 2004 and we stayed at the Ho Jo. This time we want to stay onsite and don't know which hotel to choose! I am sort of leaning towards the Disneyland Hotel because we ate there at Goofys Kitchen on our last trip and it looked nice:) But I can't seem to find any hotel reviews of the three onsite ones. I would love some ideas of the hotels such as cleanliness, service, nice rooms etc and value for money. It would be nice to have a view but I am guessing the cheaper rooms probably don't?

Also we are wondering whether Disneyland has the Magical Express free airport transfer bus? If they don't who should we use?

One last question...sorry!! We will be in Disneyland on the 28th, 29th and 30th of October...I think that is a wed, thur, fri, so I am wondering if this is a busy time of year and if the parks will be very crowded. Also, do they have any Halloween events?

Anyway, sorry for so many questions!! This is a last minute change to our plans as we were originally only going to do Walt Disney World so we are frantically trying ot research Disneyland which we don't know much about!

Thanks for any help:thumbsup2

I have stayed at both the Disneyland Hotel and the Grand California. Both are very nice. Both were very clean. I would recommend them both. I would say it is just going to be a call on how much you want to spend and how close you want to be to the park entrances.
Where are you staying at WDW? That may help us find you a comparable hotel at DLR. What do you like out of a hotel.

I liked both hotels, but for me, I loved being so close to park entrances at GC and also the extras like turndown service. So we will stay at GC again this year. But DLH was very nice too and we were very comfortable.

I don't think DLR does magical express (they should). My guess is a cab ride is your best bet, but I am sure others can help you with that. Which airport are you flying into/out of?

Sounds like an amazing trip. We went to DLR and WDW within a month of each other this past summer and it was a blast. Have fun!!

All three onsite hotels would be great. Clean, nice, etc. Non-view rooms cheaper? I guess you might say so, but nothing is going to be cheap onsite.
Least to most expensive: Disneyland Hotel. Paradise Pier. Grand Californian.

Any particular reason you want to stay onsite? IMO the DLH is a really long walk... but we were toting small children in the rain. LOVED LOVED LOVED the hotelthough. Our room was great!

We stayed off site this past october for the Halloween events (yes, they have them) and it was PACKED! But our hotel was literally right across the street. Very Nice!

Shuttles are waiting all over outside the airport. They practically flag YOU down!

HTH.

I have found the least to most expensive order in general to be: PP, DLH then GCH.
