My DH and I are going to DL for the first time with our DD3 and DS1.5 the last week of February. I have been reading the posts for the last couple of weeks. I have found very useful information that has helped me plan what rides to ride, etc. Thanks!!
I do have a couple of questions, though. If anyone could help, I would appreciate it. We are staying at the DLH. We are flying in from Boise, so we will not have a car. I am wondering if there is some kind of grocery store within walking distance or a grocery store that will deliver to DLH. I would like to have fresh fruit, milk, bread, and bottled water for the kids in our hotel room.
Also, I was wondering if anyone has used the Pack n Play that they provide at DLH. Is this servicable or should we bring ours from home?
Thanks in advance for your help!!

The local Safeway/Vons delivers to the Disneyland hotel.

Others have said they will even drop it off at the front desk and then the hotel will bring it to your room.

Thanks! I just did a search of the threads and found some other names in addition to Vons. I guess I should have done that first. Oops!!

Hey in Star! I live about 5 miles to your East. Small world, huh? Just a small FYI.. we flew from BOI into John Wayne (SNA?) with the transfer in Portland. The ear pain for our kids was really horrible so the next trip we flew from BOI directly into LAX. MUCH BETTER for us. No ear pain this time and the rental car helped us a lot, as we stopped at the Aquarium of the Pacifics and had a BLAST!! Walking form DLH was pretty tough for us that first trip, too. We stayed offsite this time, right outside the gates with less than a 4 or 5 minute walk.

Have fun!

Add me as a neighbor! We've been taking Express Jet non-stop into Ontario on these last few trips. I don't have any advice on the pack and play, but we are staying at the PPH in two weeks, I'd be happy to pull it out of the closet and take a look at it if that would help.

Hey neighbors! We actually have a straight flight. It means a very early morning for all of us as we have to get to leave for the airport by 4:30 am. However, we will be at the airport by 7:30 am if all goes well. With our kids being so young, DD3 and DS1.5, we are only doing DL on this trip. We are there for 5 days and hope to have a great time.

Boiseflyfisher- thanks for the offer to look at the pack n play. That would be great. My DH also suggested that we could just ask for another one if there is something wrong with the one in our room. I guess that would be easy enough to do.

Thanks for the tips. I would love to hear any more that anyone has for me!!

Hey Teacups, where did you stay that had a 4-5 minute walk and did you like the hotel? I'm trying to decide on a hotel.

We stayed at The Carousel. As far as the hotel, the rooms were not huge thats for sure but we will stay there again. We dont go for the rooms, ya know? The breakfast was nothing to speak of and we only tried it once. There is a McDonalds right next door and a Quizno's in the same parking lot as the hotel. The roof top pool isnt huge but its fine. It was a nice afternoon break for the kids and its bigger than our pool at home. The location wins hands down for us. The one thing I didnt like but have to deal with at a lot of hotels is the door faces the balcony that everyone uses, or the walkway... and everyone who walks by can look in the window or door if its open so I rarely had the curtains open. That was my biggest complaint. But again, the location won us over. Oh, and the cost is really nice compared to DLH! FYI... call direct for the best rates and for real availablity. (PS: We could see the park from our room except it was smoky when we were there.)

The DLH was so much nicer of course... but that walk is just too much. We were regretting staying there every night at closing time while hiking back with two sleepy kids and a cranky mom. ;)

Enjoy your trip!
