We just got back from our first ever WDW trip. It was great!, I am looking at my 500 or so digital pictures and am starting to get overwhelmed at the thought of starting the scrapbooks. I have 3 books ready to go, lots of Disney paper and stickers (Hobby Lobby 1/2 price ) Now I need some journaling help. I can handle the basic writing about the trip and what we did, but I also want to include more information. I would like to find some web sites with short journaling paragraphs about the parks, maybe some park history, brief overviews of the resorts, (we visited quite a few with the meals we had) All of my tour books and guides are so detailed. I am afraid the scrapbooks would lose the family trip "feel" if I went into as much detail as the tour books. Can you tell I just want a shortcut in journaling, yet want to include some information on WDW? Does this make any sense? Thanks for any input you have.. :wave2:

I'm going to watch this thread for info. I was thinking that I would use a little info from our travel guide along with family thoughts/experiences. But if there are some other ideas out there, that would be great.

Sounds like you had a great time! 500 pictures :earseek: Wow!

Come on!!! 500 pics . . . that's nothing!!! ;) From our trip last month I have 1007!!! :earseek:

allearsnet.com has tons of information on EVERYTHING Disney!!! You can pick and choose information you would like to include in your scrapbook!! Have fun!!! I warn you, though, the site is VERY addicting and you will find yourself spending MANY hours collecting information!!

Medfamily....you have about the same number of pictures I did when we went on our first trip last year -- think I had 19 rolls. And you're right it is a bit overwhelming especially if you're looking at your first trip or fairly new to scrapping. I think I ended up w/3 albums by the time I got everything done!
Haven't loaed all the pages yet altho they're scrapped so I'm not sure if I'll be able to get all of them in 2 albums or have to buy a 3rd one!!

One thing I will suggest, is plan how you want to do this. Definitely go to allearsnet and get some ideas from there. What I did was start out w/a cover page that says "Orlando vacation" and then the dates. Then on the first page I put a couple of shots I took of the girls in the car sleeping, after we crossed the FL state line and were at the rest area on 75. I like scrapping in chronological order but do it the way you like and feel most comfortable with. Play around w/several different L/Os before you finally decide on the one. Maybe sketch out a few things and play w/it.

JUST HAVE FUN!!

I often get overwhelmed with scrapbooking and I love to do it! I look at other people's books and think mine are not "fancy" enough. But, they are mine and I like to do them how it's easiest for me. I'm sure your family will enjoy them no matter how many details you put in them. I think the most important things to journal are funny stories and special things about your family on that trip. You can always find out about Disney information, but you might forget about a character doing something silly with a family member, or something else special. Good luck!

With my 680 pics from this past May, I was like you....completely overwhelmed!!! But I have found....www.twopeasinabucket.com to be an awesome resource site! If you go to the "peacut gallery" do a search on anything from Magic Kingdom to Chef Mickeys and you will get some great ideas...I know I did.

For instance....i am not good at journaling, so I am going to use Disney songs for my "journaling". For example, I am going to use "Be Our Guest" lyrics on my Chef Mickey's page.

You can even search Disney World, but I found being more specific, it came up with better results on what I was looking for! Good luck and keep us posted!!!!! :cheer2:

I had about the same amount of picts from this past trip (after deleting many). I sit down and organize them in groups . First plane ride, parks, hotel, pool, etc. Then I sort them into smaller groups, rides at park, characters, misc. etc. Then I write down all the different groups to see what page layouts i need to do. I used most of my pictures, but not all, and I include memorabilia on some pages and in page pockets in the book. Good luck and have fun! Angel

I have started scrapping my pics by theme. The first few books I did were day by day.... park by park etc....

My new thing (we'll see if I continue it) is to do an album per theme- from different trips.... ie all the character pics in one album (might actually need two) and then EPCOT in an album and MK in another ... you get the idea so far I have only gotten half way through the character album :hourglass .... but its a thought. :confused3

For the 2004 trip I ended up with FIVE albums!!! One for each park and one for our resort (WL) and all the other resorts we visited! I can look at WDW pics a million times and never get tired of them!!

Hey! If you need company let me know!! :cool1:

Thanks sooo much for those ideas, I am going to bookmark those sites to use when I get started. I am still developing pictures. I now have 840 digital, and many disposable cameras sent for developing. Many of the digital pics need to be deleted- I must have been moving the camera some of the pics have a double image in them. In alot of the pictures I can't tell if it is a movement of camera or me. So I will develop them and if the picture is bad I can toss it.

Keep any more ideas coming!! Right now I am taking pictures of all the guide books I used. I figure I need a page or two on the planning it took!
