I can get a flight to Tampa from Bradley for 214.00 in June. Should I book this or wait?? Right now the schedule is decent but I keep reading that Delta has been changing their flight schedules. Should I wait for a ding :rotfl2: I have tried going out of other airports, BOS, MHT and PVD but I am not having much luck. Of course I prefer to come in to Orlando but the flight are just so much more expensive :guilty: Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Tampa is just too far away for my tastes. I'd sooner fly into Melbourne than Tampa, but even there, I just cannot substantiate wasting a couple of hours of my vacation on commutation, not to mention the fuel to drive the distance.

Having said that, prices aren't like to go lower, given how much fuel costs are skyrocketing.

When is your flight?

thanks for the reply. I agree with you on wasting valuable vacation time. We would leave BDL at 8:40am and arrive in Tampa at 11:35am. I am sure it will be at least 1:30pm by the time I arrive in Orlando. I just can't seem to find a flight into Orlando for under 300.00 (Ouch!!) :guilty:

Are you flexible on the days you fly? I just figured out (and I am probably the last to figure this out) that flying Tuesday to Tuesday seems to be a lot cheaper than flying weekend to weekend!

I never realized this before! So next summer, we are going to plan our vacation for a Tuesday to Tuesday. This summer we already got out tickets early at a good price, so we are set.

As for flying into Tampa, I would much rather pay a little extra to fly into Orlando, but if it saved me a lot I would probably try Tampa (never have been there).

Do you have Airtran? We got a good rate from them this summer and they still have some connecting flights at a good rate, but the direct flights (like ours) are up in price.
