My family, DH, DM, DS4, DS1 and my father, are planning our first trip to WDW for Nov29-Dec 5 or 6. Is this a good time to go? We want shorter lines and most things up and running. We have never done Disney during Christmas and are hoping this is a good time for that. We are open to other dates if there is a better time to see all the Christmas stuff and it's less crowded. We are DLR vetrans. We are taking advantage of the military 5 day pass thing. Will 5 days be enough time? Where would be a good place to stay? When should we book it? Would you recomend getting park hoppers? Waterslide passes? We are trying to do this for as little $ as possible, but still have the best experience possible. I'm sorry I'm asking so many questions, it just seems overwhelming. There is so much more to do and see there, it seems. Thank you for any input you have!!

HI and welcome!!!

Last year was my first trip in 19 years, but I spent a year getting ready for it!!

As to some of your questions:
-If you're in the military, take a look at Shades of Green... see whether you can stay there and what the rates are.
- Otherwise, I'm guessing you want one of the Value resorts.

Either way you'll want to book ASAP.

I'm a big fan of the parkhoppers. I think they're well worth the money in terms of the flexibility they give you. On the other hand, I'm not spending the money on the waterparks (and I'm going in August.) The resort pools are fine. And who know how the weather will be when you go. (A friend of mine went for New Years 2008-- some days were pleasant, but some were COLD!)

Hi there! We went this past year from Nov. 30th to Dec. 6th and had a fabulous time. A couple of chilly nights, some swimmable days, and beautiful Xmas decorations! I would definitely go during that timeframe again next time. It was perfect.

I think thats a GREAT time of year to go! I've heard its pretty low crowds inbetween Thanksgiving and Christmas .. and from living in FL for a few years the weather is great that time of year. Like the PP said, probubly a few cool nights but also a few days that will be swimable.

I also agree, book ASAP if that is when you want to go. I think the park hopper is great, plus it's only $25 to upgrade the military tickets so they are park hoppers (I think anyway, we are upgrading but forget the exact price) DEF worth an extra $25 per person ...

We are hoping to go for Christmas in 2011 or 2012 ...

How do I call to book and if our dates change slightly will i be able to add or subtract days? Thanks!

Are the prefered rooms worth the extra money? Also if my dad desides not to go will i be able to take him off the reservation? Thanks sorry so many questions
