Hi Everyone!
Here's my problem: we are driving (from NJ ) to wdw. We will be arriving on Sunday 11/30 around 3:00. I had wanted to do mvmcp that night, as a surprise to the kids, but DH thinks that we will have to be rushing to much to check-in , eat and try to get to the party on time.
I had thought that maybe if we get to the park by 5 or so they will let us in early and then we could eat in Tomorrowland - which will probably be packed!
I figured that the MK is open so late that night we'll have plenty of time...but.....

Another option would be to go to mvmcp on Tuesday and take the kids to the Campfire or DTD. But I don't know how late DTD is open on Sundays or if they have the campfire that late in the season (if they do ...would we make it on time?).
This is our first trip so I'm clueless!! Any suggestions??
Thanks,
Kimba

There's no way I'd do that with our 4 yr old ds (nor would I or dh want to after traveling all day). Our teens on the otherhand would probably be up for it after a day of travel. We get in at 4 and after traveling all day, then checking in, we're planning a dinner (dinner show also a great option), then to the pool and look around the resort. If we were going to disney first, we'd be going to dtd for shopping/dinner at RFC then to the resort for some pool time--since you're going a little later than us, I might skip the pool but would still go for stopping by the hot tub (kids always love this even when it's cold out).

We are planning to go to typhoon lagoon the day we do go to the haloween party so we don't overdo it during the day...then we'll head back to the resort for some down time before dinner & the party.

I wouldn't try to do MVMCP on arrival day. I went on a Tuesday in 2001 and it was great. I would check out the resort, maybe do a dinner at another resort-if you do a MK resort maybe you could see the Electric Water Pagent and then see the fireworks from that resort.

Or if you go to DTD maybe you could all buy matching T's to wear for your MVMCP photo. Get your photo taken early so you won't have to wait in a long line. You want to ask the CM to take a photo with your camera. When I went the picture didn't come out so we didn't get our photo.

You will have such a great trip. Disney is so magical in early December.

It has taken me several trips but I've finally realized that I am TIRED after a trip and in no mood to do anything other than get to my room, maybe take a swim, explore the resort, and have dinner. No campfires. No getting to a special resort for a special dinner (i.e. Chef Mickey's - unless I'm in the CR), no Spectromagic (even though it often only plays on Saturday - our arrival day).

If I plan anything big I am either too tired to follow through (and then upset with myself), or too cranky to enjoy the things I do.

You may be different and your kids may be different than mine (we fly in on an "early" flight so we have plenty of time to make a day out of it - which means we are tired when we arrive).

Thanks everyone for your great replies! I think we will go to mvmcp on Tuesday instead. I'd hate to have a traffic accident or road construction make us miss the party! So many unknowns on that first day!
We'll just play it by ear and see how it goes..I've always wanted to see the Wilderness Lodge..maybe will go explore that!
Thanks Again,
Kimba
