Help finding the best deal please...

Well, I called DVC today and didn't get a call back-so am still confused! I don't even know which agent we have as we had one mail us info in 2003 and a different one booked us into DVC onboard the ship. Anyway, here is our problem: We were offered the free 7 night cruise-but it is during school and we have kids in high school who can't miss a week of school. We were then offered developer points-but we are going in April (too soon to close and then book through DVC) and again for Thanksgiving-so we can't justify another trip between April and October. I had hoped to use these points to pay off a cruise we already booked-but someone said this is not possible... Does anyone have any advice to figure out how to make this work? Is it possible that we will close and have time to book DVC by Easter? Also, how hard is it to book the free RCI week? Thanks!!

If you buy through DVC, your points will be available quickly. They will send you the paperwork and if you sign and send it back in, you could close in a month's time. It would be close to Easter, but I believe if SSR has availability, it would work out for you.

When I added on at BLT recently, my points were available in a matter of hours. I know that it is different for new members, but I certainly think they would make it work for you.

Thanks-she finally called me back and explained that the agent on board should have told us that if we take the developer points, they can only be used for a cruise listed during the incentive dates-so we know that won't work! She also said they could only be used at SSR or Disneyland or an RCI exchange-which was definitely not mentioned during the presentation! The good news is that we may be able to book SSR for our April trip-so hopefully, that will work out! Thanks again!!!
