HI Dis buddies

I need your assistance. A few years ago at a Walgreens after Christmas sale I bought a bunch of little miniature jars. They probably only hold an once or so.

They have a the little metal clasp on them and a tiny wooden spoon. I would like to come up with something to use them as co-worker gifts this year but am stumpped.

They are not big enough to put any kind of mix or anything in. Does anyone have an idea.
Thanks

You'll probably have to put it with something.

But a single serve of hot chocolate powder is 1 ounce.

how about some vanilla sugar for coffee or tea? You could buy some vanilla beans (I get mine at saffron.com, but you can get them a bunch of places), cut an inch or so, and bury it in sugar. With a couple weeks to sit, it should be good and fragrant by Christmas. I would also include a note that they should be able to refill it with plain sugar a couple of times and get vanilla sugar after a week or two.

cupcakes in a jar! I made them for a friends wedding favor. They are super cute and easy to make. You just put the cake mix in the jar and bake it in there, then ice them. Everyone loved them! Since it was a fall wedding (and we are VT Hokie fans) we did red velvet with cream cheese icing and pumpkin with cream cheese icing..

A friend of ours, every Christmas, brings us broken candy canes in babyfood jars. I know that it sounds weird, but her boys always have a cute picture and a Scripture on a small tag attached to the jar. And, you can use up all the broken candy canes. And really, I enjoy the "bits and pieces" better, because I can never eat a whole candy cane, small or large!

If they have kids...how about reindeer glitter....sprinkle on your lawn so they will see it in the moonlight to know where to land, with a little card and poem tied on by ribbon. I found the prettiest to be iridescent / white glitter mixed with oats. You can Google many variations of the poem, here are a few:

Sprinkle on the lawn at night
The moon will make it sparkle bright
As Santa's reindeer fly and roam
This will guide them to your home

or

Inside this special package is a treat but not for you!
It contains magical reindeer food and here is what you do.
Sprinkle this magical reindeer food carefully on the ground.
And tonight if you are lucky Santa's reindeer will come around.
But here's a secret I have to tell, one you must try to keep.
That Santa's reindeer only come when you are fast asleep.
So quickly put your jammies on and get a story read,
Then sprinkle this magic treat outside and hurry off to bed!

Mini marshmellows with a little poem:

You've been naughty so here's the scoop, all you get is snowman poop!

To the poem on the outside of the jar, include a packet of hot chocolate.

I like the reindeer food idea. If they are the jars I'm thinking about they'd be perfect!

The snowman poop is hilarious!!!!

One thing about the magic reindeer food. I've made this for years and this year I read somewhere that the glitter is probably not good for the reindeer :scared1:. Seriously though, I had lost my poem and in an internet search for it I read that wild animals may eat the oats out of your yard and that it's better to use the sparkly sugar crystals because the glitter might make them sick. I used red and green sugar in mine this year.

You are correct and I'm glad you posted this.

I suggest a sugar body scrub and I love the ideas for the broken candy canes too, that would be super cute and fun to munch on. An alternative to that might be found at Target, small peppermint balls wrapped individually in a bag for $1.00 in the Dollar Spot.
