I need help from the parents of 8 and 10 year olds. What to do their first night? :confused3 My husband and I are arriving a day before my in-laws, niece10, and nephew8 so we will be rested and ready to go, but they will not be. Their day will begin a 6am, a three-hour drive to the airport, 3 hours in the airport checking in, 2 hours on the plane(1st time for kids), and (hopefully) no more than 2 hours taking the Magical Express to the hotel. Now figure in adrenaline rush just for being at WDW for the 1st time. Now, the options: Chef Mickey and swimming at our hotel or FW Trail's End buffet(b/c this is my in-laws kind of food), roasting marshmallows with Chip & Dale, and Electrical Water Parade at 9:45p. I'm not worried about the in-laws b/c they can always return to the room and my DH and I can keep the kids. My question is will the kids have the energy to do the FW option or will I be wearing them out before our early start to MK the next morning? They are not hyper-active at all, but have a "normal" level of energy.

Thanks so much for any input!!!! :love1:

I would make it a very laid back evening! Dinner, pool time of they are not too tired and early to bed. We do always take a ride on the monorail our first night so depending on where you are staying that might be fun. We did WCC our first night last year and were too tired to really enjoy it. CM is really fun but if everyone is tired a quiter dinner in the resort that you are staying at might be even better.

Thank you very much for your suggestion. Having a quiet evening does make a lot of sense. Thanks again for the help!
