I know you guys can help!

Have been eating low carb since February, was off during April---vacation, took me the rest of the month to get back on track!

Well, we went to my BIL's this past weekend. I took my Atkins crunch cereal, cottage cheese and some blackberries. Figured that would be enough to help me through the weekend..........wrong!

He still thinks my concern is low fat, not low carbs. So everything he fixed was low fat. And they got Mcdonald's for breakfast one day (we were doing a neighborhood garage sale, so everyone chipped in and they brought back junk from mickey d's. I had to peel a biscuit off of some sausage and cheese, not what I wanted)

I didn't think I ate too bad, all things considered.

But since being home I have been sick, sick, sick! Nausea, weakness, no energy at all. And no matter what I eat I am feeling sick. And even though I want to get back into doing my yoga I am too darn weak.

Is this my body trying to get back into lypolysis?????
I just want it to go away!

I guess I am part complaining, part asking for advice. TIA.

I'm a wwer so I don't know anything about Atkins or SBD, but could you have the flu or food poisoning? I know that might oversimplify things where you are looking for a solution, but my whole family just had a terrible flu where we were all down with various gastro illnesses for several days. It's an odd season to get it, so I didn't know if you might be overlooking a non-diet related problem.

Hope you're feeling better soon!

Hi,

I don't to Atkins either, I do WW's but I just wanted to tell you I hope you get feeling better. I know its no fun to be sick. I agree, you could have the stomach flu. That can definately cause the symptoms you are describing. Maybe someone who is on Atkins can give you more advice.

Get better soon,
Melanie

Liz, just thinking about a McDonald's sausage and cheese, with or without the biscuit, is making me sick just sitting here. Seriously, I'm with disneygoof -- could this just be a passing virus? Otherwise, I've heard that after you cut down on a particular thing for a while, whether it be carbs or fat, you lack the proper enzymes to digest it properly, so possibly you consumed more carbohydrates than your body could comfortably handle. Which is good! It's harder to slip off your plan if the result is ookiness.

Hope you're feeling better soon! Whatever the cause, try drinking herbal tea -- fennel tea is good for nausea, as are chamomile and peppermint -- and look forward to getting your strength back!

In the future, you may want to nicely remind your BIL of the things that you are not eating, so he has it straight next time. His intentions were certainly good!

I know this is personal, but is there any chance you could be pregnant? Hope you feel better soon!!!!!!!!

No chance at being pregnant. Dh had the "operation" ;) .

After sticking to low carb all week, I feel much better. In fact, by Thursday the symptoms were gone. And I felt like doing yoga again, which is a lifesaver. I have sciatica and yoga alleviates the pain in my back and foot.

Thanks everyone for the input.
