Help! Fashion Dilemma

I have 4 boys...here's the dress code....baby to 6yo-khakis and a polo, 7yo to 8th gr.-khakis, dress shirt, tie. high school add a navy blazer, college you wear a suit. Nice dress shoes are cheap at walmart, resale shops. You can even squeeze em something a little small for a few hours. Blazers I find at Goodwill or even remnants from suits. Good luck. It's always better to be over dressed than under dressed.

Go with the khakis, dress shirt and tie. Unless it is a formal wedding--which you said it isn't--that will be fine for their age. You will probably also see men wearing the same thing.

Go to Walmart or Kmart or even a payless shoe store (sometimes they have buy one, get one 1/2) for dress shoes. You can try a thrift store as well, sometimes they have decent shoes.

I would not buy him a sportcoat. He will only take it off when he gets to the reception. I would go with dress pants, dress shirt and tie.

I'm 37 and haven't worn a sportscoat to a wedding for many, many years. I go the polo shirt or maybe a button down shirt without a tie route will dress pants. Our son is 11 and he has never been beyond the polo/khaki route.

Why not call the bride? What if the Op and bride are close? I wouldn't call if I didn't know them well but if it was my niece or BFF or BFF's kid I would call and ask without hesitation. The fact the OP's 3 kids were invited at all leads me to think they must be close:confused3

The wedding is a week away. The bride is VERY VERY busy right now. She does not need to have phone calls for, oh, almost any reason.

Now, if the golf/pool club can't be contacted, then if the OP knows the bride's mom or sister or aunt or someone like that, contact them, if the OP thinks there's a dress code for the club.

I can't imaging many wedding where a polo would be appropriate. Perhaps this is a regional thing, but I have never seen any man or boy with a polo and khakis, even at an afternoon summer wedding.

Regardless of age, a pair of dress trousers, button front shirt and tie should be fine.

And I can't imagine a wedding where men wear ties and sportscoats, other than the groomsmen. ;)
