Hi, We are planning a couple of days at Universal in August between the 13-23rd. I can purchase express plus for 31.00 a piece for the 4 of us. I was thinking getting it for one of our days. Do we need it?? We have been once a few years back but I can't remember if the lines were long or not. Thanks in advance to all of you Studio experts out there.:thumbsup2

$31 x4= $124 for 1 day x 2 ,days =$248 probably + tax and you only entitled to 1 ride on each attraction.
I would stay in the hotel for 1 night ,you get 2 days FOTL and ride as often as you want, and would wwork out probably cheaper.

they won't sell out of the EP's that time of year. wait until you get into the parks and judge the standby times before you decide to buy them.

We would only buy them for one of the days. We are already booked at the BWI in Disney. I have purchased 3 day to the Universal and Islands but will probabley only do two days. I was thinking it might be worth it to be able to get on everything pretty quickley on one of our days there if it will be busy.

YOu don't need to buy them in advance. Wait until you get INTO the parks and get a chance to see if they are necessary. They are for sale all over the parks. Get to the parks before opening if you really want to get on everything quickly.

Damo, How often do the passes sell out?? I guess my questions a catch 22..because if they do sell out it is busy and I should have bought them ahead of time. If they don't sell out it probabley isn't that busy and then I didn't need to buy them anyway?? Anyhow I an a universal newbie and just don't know what to expect. Thanks for everyones advise.:)

I think they very rarely sell out. End of August is not busy at the parks. You should be fine. If you get to the parks early, you will be able to see if the crowd level is getting crazy. At that point, go buy your express passes.

i agree w/ damo....you can "wait and see" and be sure to get there early....be at parking garage by 8AM (is it 8 robvia?) if you go early, you will get a lot done. if you decide to get a room for the night, you don't have to use it, but your key will get you 2 days of FOTL. You'd probably do okay with the "wait and see" route tho.....
