Actually its kind of precious to see how much they love their Mom. DW is away on a spiritual retreat this weekend during which we can't reach her by phone or otherwise. It didn't really dawn on me until tonight, but this is the first time DS6 has been in a situation where he couldn't even talk to Mom on the phone. I hugged him and rocked him while he cried himself to sleep. Really sweet when you think about it. This will make DW's return Sunday that much greater.

I am really looking forward to the next few days. I am taking leave from work and plan on just hanging out with the kids and having some adventures together.

My dd used to love it when I'd go out of town for a couple of days when she was small. She had her dad all to herself and he did like you and devoted the time to her. She'd get to go fishing, boating, hiking, biking and whatever else she could think up.

Aww, poor guy. Maybe if he wrote her a letter it would help, although kids adjust fast so maybe tomorrow he will be ok with it. Have fun with the kids!

Yeah... DS6 and his older sister will be fine tomorrow. Tonight just kind of caught me by surprise. I am so looking forward to having a grand time with them tomorrow.

I remember loving when dad was gone-mom would let me sleep with her. When mom was gone, dad and I would break rules...we'd say "Mom, can we eat in the family room?" and one of us would say "yes" in a super girly voice. Lots of fun. We'd order pizza or have other treats that mom didn't let us get away with too.
