You'd think the guy would check the labels on a new sweater - but NOOOO!...he washes & dries the wool sweaters just like everything else. Of course, the sweaters shrunk. Does anyone have any tricks for stretching them out a little? I seem to recall something about "blocking". Is it too late to do anything about them now? Any suggestions would be welcome.

I accidently did this one time and I rewet the sweater and just kept working with it, stretching it while it was wet until it was approximately the right size and then I let it air dry. I'm sure there are much better options out there than that though.

Keli is right. If you are going to get it back to anywhere near the correct size, this is the only way to do it. Use a steam iron to help in the blocking. If he used a hot drier, it might not work too well, but at this point, what have you got to lose? I would certainly try it.

My great aunt used to alway soak it in hair conditioner first....loosens up the fibers or something.....but like Diane said....what have you got to loose now???
