HELP - driving from Tampa

Hi everyone - I'm having a rough morning. My flight to MCO was cancelled and all flights into Orlando are sold out today. I just booked a flight into Tampa later tonight. Does anyone have any advice about the drive from Tampa to Orlando? Do I need to worry about Sunpass? I'll be solo with my younger son, and I'm not happy about driving, but I'll do anything to get back on track for this vacation! Sadly, my FoP fastpasses for tonight will go unused

So upset, but trying to get some Pixie dust going! TIA for any advice!

We fly in to TPA quite often and the drive to WDW is really easy. Out of the airport to I-275 east across Tampa then I-4 to WDW, usually less than 90 minutes.
It's all Interstate so no tolls and 70-75mph speed limit on the I-4 section.
Did you book a rental from TPA to MCO? Taking Disneys Magical express to resort?
OR did you book the rental from TPA to CCC (Disneys Car Care Center), this way you could take all your luggage to the resort your self before returning the rental.

No Sunpass needed from Tampa's airport to Orlando. It is actually a fairly easy drive. When my cousin lived in the Tampa area, we would make day trips to Orlando and she lived about 20-30 minutes farther than the airport.

Hi everyone, thank you so much! After a crazy day of cancellations and delays, I am sitting in POR ready to go to bed so I can rope drop FoP tomorrow!

The drive was indeed a breeze, although I am glad that I was driving it was very little traffic around me. I can't believe the speed limit is 70 around here! Anyways, thank you again to everyone for making me feel confident in my choice. There were a huge number of cancellations all up and down the East Coast today, and I am just so grateful to be sitting in WDW!
