Come on over to the "For 2000+ mile drivers only" http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3124884

There are a ton of people who drive from Jersey and PA. If you take the time to read through it, you'll get a lot of opinions on your question - it's been asked a lot in the past. If you have more questions, then ask away! It is truly THE most friendly thread on the entire DISboards (in my opinion) :goodvibes And I'm not saying that because I post there more than any other thread LOL. :rotfl:

Are you planning on taking 95? Since it is a weekday, you have to be mindful of rush hours, particularly in the DC area. I am about an hour and ten minutes to the Delaware Memorial Bridge, and have found what works or me is leaving early morning, 2:30 AM. I am passing DC 5:30 AM. Then I arrive in the Orlando area in the evening and check in to a hotel and everyone gets a good night's sleep. The next morning it is on to a WDW hotel with only a very short drive (under an hour). The early morning start also lets others sleep, often not getting up till I am already in NC or even SC. Of course you could opt to stop sooner and still keep it to a relatively short drive Friday morning to WDW.

Yes we are leaving on thurs morning jan 9th. We were thinking 3-4 am. Is that ok? And yes taking 95

the 2,000 mile thread is good resource but i'd vote 3-4am is cutting it close depending on where you live. You could hit DC right during the morning rush. Use one of the web map sites to see how long from your house to get well past DC and back that out to when you need to leave. I'd say use Fredericksburg va- at least for reference of how far you need to get past DC to get out of it's messy traffic. (We usually leave at night, so i can't speak to if Fredericksburg and Richmond also have rush hour traffic in the AM).

The DC area is the worst bit of the entire ride, by far.
