On the day we are going to Blizzard Beach I booked a breakfast adr for Olivia's at OKW. I though it would be a fun way to also check out the reosrt before we head to the waterpark. Would it be completely distasteful if my DH and two boys- 13 & 17- wore their swim trunks and shirts here? I have a coverup that looks like a normal romper so you won't be able to tell I have a swimsuit underneath. We could go back to the resort we're staying at (AKL) to change if we have to, and I don't want to bring an extra change of clothes if we don't have to. Any advice would be great- thanks!

Olivia's is not a Signature, so it's probably okay, but it also probably depends on what the swim wear looks likes. If it something like board shorts, you'd probably be okay. If it's a speedo-type swim wear, I think that might cause some issues.

If it were me, I would wear regular clothes to breakfast and pack your swimwear with you and change at the Waterpark. They have lockers to store the clothes. Then, I'd have dry clothes for the trip back to the resort after a day at the water park. I hate being wet/damp and then I wouldn't feel bad about leaving the bus seats wet/damp either.

We eat at Olivia's all the time, as a matter of fact, twice this year with a reservation booked for March. Board shorts and tees should be fine. If weather permits, you can even sit outside.:)

Totally agree. I stayed at OKW in June, ate at Olivia's four times (it's so convenient and generally easy to get a reservation), and it is very casual.

Absolutely fine. We often hop over from the pool at OKW for an impromptu lunch. We just dry off and throw on tshirts or coverups.

1) Just ate dinner there last week, due to a HUGE CM discount.
2) We wore shorts, shirts, tennies.
3) There really is no dress policy for bfast-lunch-dinner.

Thanks for the responses! Yea, the guys suits are board short like, so they should be fine.

Agree with the others. Not only is it very casual, but its practically empty a lot of the time, so I wouldn't worry!

Wow, outdoor dining at Olivia's? So far we've only been there in January, so we haven't had that experience. Who knew? Love it! :lmao:

Come on...you're from Minnesota! You can handle the patio at Olivia's in January! ;)

We're from New England and often enjoy lunch on Olivia's patio in January. Breakfast and lunch are a bit too cool for us though.

Your suits will be dry, right? If they are wet, you'll want to change.

Personally, I wouldn't wear swimwear to Olivia's. Goods to Go, yes. Olivia's, no.

As far as ATTIRE goes, it would not be a problem at Olivias.

My concern with WET bathing suits would be sitting in the restaurant and then leaving a soaking wet chair for somebody else to sit on----

I had that same thought, but then I saw that the OP was asking about eating breakfast at Olivia's before they headed over the water park. So, unless they get caught in a freak downpour, they should be dry when they get there. :rotfl:

Different strokes and all, but I wouldn't hesitate to wear them in the OP's situation. The boys swimsuits look like shorts, will be dry and will be worn with a t-shirt. The OP has a cover up that looks like a dress. They won't look any different than guests in park attire and should be fine at Olivia's.

Might be something we'll have to try in the future. Guess I wasn't aware it was available because we didn't see anyone else doing it. Thanks for the tip!:cool1:

Consider other table service dining (not including Signature Dining because that is obvious). Would you wear swimwear? I don't think so. Would you wear it a Grand Floridian Cafe? No. Would you wear it at Cape May? Probably not. Whispering Canyon? No. Olivia's isn't much different. It's not counter service dining.

Actually, if my swimwear looked like park wear I would. I would wear a cover up that looked like a dress to the Grand Floridian Cafe (or Whispering Canyons, or Kona, or well, you get the idea :) )...no question. Nobody would know that I have a swimsuit on under it. As for the boys...so many boy's suits look like shorts that I wouldn't have an issue with that either.

Now, if my suit was wet, if I was wearing a see-through cover up that didn't look like a dress, if my boys were wearing speedos...any of those would keep me from eating in a sit-down restaurant. Dressed as the OP described, I wouldn't hesitate.

MouseMom, I agree 100%. I have worn a cute cover up to many of those same restaurants mentioned above over my suit. I wasn't wet, and I felt totally comfortable with my choice. Olivia's is so laid back and casual as it is. I actually eat there every trip.:cool1:I don't see the problem.
