Going in circles making this decision so some helpful Dis input would be appreciated.

I have a good rate for 1 night stay at Dtn Disney Doubletree Suites that incl. a continental breakfast for the 6 of us (2A, 1 teen, 2 tweens, 1 child) the day we get off our Cruise & before we head to Universal the next day. On that day we were going to do Gatorland & hang at Dtn Disney. Possibly Pleasure Island in eve for adults (2nd visit if like our first one earlier on trip, we will have the Plus tix).

BUT, I can get a good rate at Nick Hotel for that night for only $20 more, but with no breakfast. Lots of cool Xmas activities going on at Nick for the kids. And that water area looks so cool, even for an early Dec. visit. We are Northerners so I'm sure they'll swim anyway.

Would love some advice on this conundrum. I'm just getting so close to our mammoth, long anticipated trip now I can't seem to make any more decisions!
TIA.

I have never been to the nick place but we have stayed at doubletree guest suites we got a great rate from mousesavers
it was awesome
we loved it
the room was huge !!! the pool was nice
sound slike the nick hotel would be fun and your kids would probably love it good luck

Yup, both standard-sized mini-suite rooms that sleep 6.
Glad to hear the Doubletree was very nice.
Still deciding...
Location, location
OR way cool pool & noise & some more bucks for breakfast too?
Should be any easy decision, but we know our trip is all about the kids! Just do the kids want to hit DtnDisney & DisneyQuest one more time or do will we want to hang at The Pool? Looks like I'll have to make up my mind. Never enough time for everything!

I don't think I'd stay somewhere based on a pool alone. Kids that like to swim will love almost any pool. In Dec. you can get days that are too cool to swim (I'm from the N.E. too). Also, it would be awful if you paid that extra money and everything just to use a pool, and the whole day was a wash out.

Good point, not to mention if it rains.

So, because it has no breakfast included, we're actually talking about a $40 difference and it's only for one night?? Ummmmmm.........I would choose the DTD location (our favorite) but Nick isn't that far from here, is it? I can't remember.

Hard decision but it's only for one night, so it's not like it's going to make or break the vacation (which is a good thing, right? :teeth: )

Good luck.

Stayed at the Nick hotel when it was called the Holiday Inn Family Suites.

Have looked around since the renovation, great place for kids with a brilliant pool designed specifically for children.

Nice large rooms with microwave/fridge/VCR/kid's seperate room with TV etc

Would highly recommend it, if you have children.

Sorry cannot advise on the Doubletree.

Thanks for all the helpful input. I needed it. While the Nick Hotel would be fun I would be so disappointed if weather didn't cooperate for that 1 day (actually less than that we would be there). We are sticking with original plan. Kids won't miss what they don't know about. It's just this crazy Mom who manages to spin everything much bigger when planning this trip. It's already going to be jaw-dropping (& tiring). Give my DH & myself a break in somewhat calmer surroundings. This day is supposed to be our bit of calm again before we hit the Universal Parks full-tilt so the easy breakfast will be nice too. :sunny:
