I posted this on the cruise forum, but thought this was appropriate here.

We are going to cruise (tentatively) Aug 14 on Magic . We are flying into MCO much earlier to go to the theme parks. So we will definitly need a rental car the first leg of our trip.

We are going to start out at WDW parks, then go to Universal Parks, then drive over to Bush Gardens for a day, then drive over to Port Canaveral for our cruise.

1) Can I return a car rented at Orlando airport someplace near Port canveral so I am not paying for it the week we are gone to sea?
2) How do I get back to Orlando airport after our cruise? Are there shuttles, can you get a towncar one way? Or am I better off to pay a day rate rental?

There are 4 of us in our party.
Any input is appreciated---Hoping that our itinerary is not too crazy, but we just want to do it all!!!!!

I am going on a Cruise in Oct, and then the parks. I rented a car from Avis - one way to Cape Canaveral. Then when we get back, I have rented from Avis again, with a return to Orlando Airport. So it can be done. It's a little more expensive. But not much more.

Buzz is right about the car for your first part of your trip. The ride from cruise to airport could also be done by DCL/Mears bus. Just another option to look at. Price and convience is what I would look for. Good luck.

My sister just did a Disney cruise, she rented from Avis to get out to Cape Canaveral and used the Mears transportation back to the airport after the cruise.

She chose Avis from MCO to CC because they offered a shuttle to the dock when you drop off the car.
