on certain plants?

I went to a plant show today and I bought his one tree with orange flowers and forgot the name of it. I need to look up the info to see where to plant it and such. thanks.

Oh and, anyone have any luck growing Magnolia's? Are they pretty easy to grow? (I bought a small about, probably about 14 inches for $3 today!! :)

Hi Christine! :flower3:

If you can give us a bit more info, the Bud plant detectives might be able to help you out. :)

What shape are the flowers, daisy-like, tubular? Also the leaves, are they lance shaped, palm shaped? That kind of stuff...:)

In the meantime, try checking out the Floridata Plant list. There's a lot there, but hopefully you'll find your new plant. There's also info on Magnolias. :)

Floridata Plant List

Let us know if you find your tree, okay? :)

Any Buds out there with Magnolia experience to pass along?

:)

There are many, many different species of flowers. lots have an orange variety. If you could describe the shape of the flower and its leaves I'm sure one of the buds here would be able to help you.

There also many varieties of Magnolia's all have beautiful flowers. We up north only have a few that can stand our harsh winters. We treasure those few.

I think you can grow just about all varieties. Just remember to keep it watered well the first couple of years. The top soil dries out rapidly in the heat. Until the root system has a chance to deepen and get established it's survival will depend on how much TLC you give it. The smaller the tree the more it will need regular watering.

Don't forget to let us know when you find out what it is.

Meanwhile, have you ever checked out the GardenWeb site?

Thanks everyone. I took a flower to my aunt who said it was a honeysuckle. I did look them up on the internet to make sure she was correct, and of course she was.

I thank you for the links and will take a look at them and save them on my computer! :)

This honeysuckle is said to be very viney and blooms for a while - leaves are evergreen. It is so pretty.....now if only I see a hummingbird. :)

Thanks again!!!
