I need a job ASAP and have always wanted to work at a school. So today I'm searching the ads and I find this position....
School Office Clerk (High School)
"High school diploma or equivalent or special diploma required. General clerical work in school office. Involves basic office procedures. Type at a specified rate of speed. Valid Florida Driver License. Good knowledge of and ability to use modern office practices and procedures. Good knowledge of business English, punctuation, arithmetic, spelling, record-keeping methods, and practices and procedures. Knowledge of elementary accounting and bookkeeping procedures. Working knowledge of departmental or school rules, regulations and policies. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion with minimum instructions; work well with others and assist the public cooperatively and courteously; perform multiple tasks in stressful situations. Skill in the application of modern office techniques and practices; skill in the use of a typewriter/computer and in the use and care of pertinent office machines and equipment. "
Now, I haven't worked in an office since 2001, but before that I worked for over a year as the head person of a large medical clinic's office (doing everything and anything needed) have all the computer, office skills one could have, of course I could brush up on my EXCEL skills. Before that I worked as a medical records clerk.
Since 2001 I've worked as a nanny and a cashier....
What do you think, what work experience in particular do you think they are looking for? I am not quiet sure when it says working knowledge of school rules, etc if that means you must already know them or just must be able to learn them ASAP when you start.
I went to this school so I would be excited to work here and enjoy the job. If it helps I use to be an office aid...lol!
Just don't want to apply for something I have no chance at, what do you guys think?
