My brand new cookie sheets will turn dark and discolor after 3 months of owning them. Plus the cookie sheets will accumilate black splotches here and there. The splotches won't wash off!

How do you keep cookie sheets looking brand new? My cookie sheets look about 5 years old only after 2 or 3 months of use.

Thanks for the tips!

Try using parchment paper on the cookie sheets when baking.

Mine curl up. They bend and are then uneven. As far as the splotches, use parchment or silpat.

the splotchs and blackening are baked on grease from "greased cookie sheets" clean em with oven cleaner to remove the worst, or just kepo using them.. the cheep pans will be worse at this,m and the curling. its worth the bucks for the better baking ware. i really like the pampered chef stones, but those are really high priced, you can get decent pans at wal mart or a cook ware store, you get what you pay for. yeah i know hard to belileve domestic diva frog:)

Well, the cheap one doesn't curl. The two I actually spent a decent amount of money on do curl. So there goes that theory.

The best cookie sheet I own is a baking stone. Pampered chef. Makes the best cookies in the crappy electric oven that I hate, I mean have.
(It was in the house when we bought it)

hmmmm is your oven unlevel mos? just curious and thinking about what could curl em,, maybe hot spots,, maybe unlevel rack,,, just random thoughts.

I have AirBake sheets that I have used for many years. I have never had a problem cleaning them or curling. They cost more than most other bakeware but they are well worth it. It is also very hard to burn the bottoms of your cookies with AirBake. Some bakeware is supposed to turn color or season when it is used and scrubbing it clean is not good for it.

another vote for airbake -- my airbakes sheets have never discolored or warped.

i have some cheapie cookie sheets that have discolored and warped, but i don't think it hurts anything.

I second the Pampered Chef stones. They are expensive but they last a LONG time!!!

I have used the Airbake sheets as well and have loved them too. (Until one of my family members decides it needs to be washing in the dishwasher.....so note here DON'T WASH THEM IN THE DISHWASHER!!!!)

I totally recommend a sheet of aluminum foil to coat the cookie sheet. It also keeps the bottom of whatever you are baking from burning.

Pampered Chef Bar Pan, the best cookie sheet I've ever had! And soooooooooooo worth the money!

Yes! Mine do. I gave up and now I just get the cheap ones and replace them every few months when they get really bad.

I only use the airbake cookie sheets. They are by far the best in my opinion. It is extremely hard to ruin a cookie baked on them. Even if you "forget" you have cookies in the oven and let them go a few minutes too long the cookies just get browner and don't really burn.

loves smy pampered chefs too,, and air bakes are nice,, agres the dishwasher does ruin em,, dd has totaled my airbakes sso i back to best i could buy local,, i miss the pampered chef lady:(

The cookie sheets I don't like are the non stick ones. When I use them (for anything!), everything burns. I don't know why.

I have a lot of Pampered Chef stuff, as well. Very good stuff, but too expensive.

Yet another vote for Pampered Chef I love the stuff!! The darker they get, the better.I use parchment paper with the stones too! ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

I use the airbake cookie sheet. All my other ones are discolored.
