DH, DS and I are planning our first trip to DLR next May. We are WDW vets, but have never been to DL and are super excited about going. We are DVC members so we plan to use points at either the Disneyland Hotel or the Grand Californian. We will definitely be spending some time in San Diego, as the zoo, Legoland, Sea World, etc are very appealing. But how many nights in DL?

We are debating between 4-5 nights. I know it's a lot smaller than WDW, but we want to be able to relax, take it easy and see as much as we can. We want to try some of the restaurants, enjoy as many attractions as we can and enjoy the resort pool and maybe a beach (although we will definitely be going to the beach in the San Diego portion). We are NOT commando tourists and our main concern is that at WDW we can always say "we'll be back soon!" if we miss something. We know we'll be back to DLR again but we don't know when/how soon.

Help! How many nights is best? Any advice is appreciated! I am a super planner and I feel like I am starting from scratch on this trip - but I am SO excited about that!

TIA!!

Three days at DLR would be considered a minimum. Four is better. Five is too much for us but others would say five is right. If you do five days you will be sure to have plenty of leisure touring.

Also, May is considered off-season so check this link too:

hi there, you must be going very similar dates to us...we will arrive on may 2nd and we are staying 10-11 nights :thumbsup2 ...we go longer but are doing only 5 day passes...this is what we have done our last 2 trips...the first few days, we go at full speed and the last couple we kinda get to relax and do all our favourites...i think 4-5 gives u the chance to do everything many, many times...3-4 would probably even be good...have a great trip...i cant wait...

5 nights, 4 days would be good, but that time of year make sure that you are there over a weekend so you get the night time shows.

Thank you all - especially for the links! We will be there over a weekend, so hopefully that will help.

I appreciate the help...now I'm off to check out more of those threads!

We have done 4 nights, 5 days. This includes the afternoon of our arrival-- where we sort of saunter and explore. Then 3 days of planned touring. The last day we re-do favorites and shop for any souvenirs we missed, again, more relaxed... before flying out in the late afternoon or early evening. It seems to work well for us; we're ready to go home by then.

i personally think 3-4 full days there that would give u plenty of time to do everything! have fun!
