For only the 2nd time, my mom, sister and I are headed to Disneyland. This is part of a longer vacay up the Cali coast. I was looking at vacation packages on the website, but was wondering if it would be cheaper to book hotel and tickets separately or should I stick with the package?

Also, we'd like to be as close as possible so we can park the car and leave it. Walking distance would be perfect. However, we are all women so we want safety as well. We noticed that most of the hotels around there have exterior entrances (the cheaper ones anyway). Would those be ok to stay in?:confused3

Any and ALLLL advice is appreciated. Thank you!!! :dance3:

Booking everything seperately is usually cheaper. There are a few "perks" to doing the package. If you book through Costco, you get vouchers for "premium character meals" for each person and I think a $50 gift card, which can be useful. :)

As far as location, all the hotels on Harbor Blvd and walking distance, and cheaper than the resort hotels. They are perfectly safe to walk back and forth between DLR and your hotel if you are right across the street. If you drive, you can leave the car at the hotel and not really need it again. But, please note that most of the hotels charge daily for parking.

We stayed on Katella which was about 2 1/2 blocks walk to Disney and I felt completely safe as a single mom with a young child. There are so many other tourists out and about that you are not walking alone. We stayed late and caught the fireworks and I felt totally fine walking back to the hotel.

Our hotel had an exterior extrance but it was into the hotel parking lot (not onto the street) and the entrance into the parking lot was at the front desk which was manned 24/7 so I did not feel unsafe at all.

There are truly so many other tourists and people around that I don't think you need to worry at all. Have a wonderful trip!:woohoo:
