My family & I are planning a vacation to Orlando in June/July time. We have booked flight, rental car & hotel. I have been searching throughout the internet for discount ticket to Disney but I’m finding ~ $10 difference in prices. We are planning to spend 5 days. Can anyone please suggest a safe method (I not comfortable with buying ticket through E-Bay), economical way to buy tickets?
I’m a AAA member but I didn’t see any option for buying tickets on their website.

I have also read in some of the forums that people are using meal vouchers?
How much are meals, do these vouchers save you that much?
How can I purchase voucher tickets?
Thank you,
Ed

First and foremost, welcome to the DIS!!!!

Most of the time, you can buy AAA tickets from your local office, there used to be a AAA office in South Carolina (I think) that sold tickets online.

Otherwise, most of the ticket brokers, ticketmania.com, undercovertourist.com, etc., have similar pricing. Disney doesn't allow for much difference in pricing.

The meal vouchers used to be for sale from hotwire.com, however they have been discontinued. I have heard of one other website that sells them, however it has an extremely high shipping rate (nearly $20), and the vouchers are more expensive. Thus, they really aren't the great deal that they used to be.

Ask away, people here are full of Disney knowledge, and once again, Welcome.

You can purchase tickets from your local AAA office but don't be surprised if they don't have all the choices available. With MYW, there are so many tickets types now that it would be difficult to keep them all in stock.

I've also found that my AAA's prices are not as good as the prices that I can get from Ticketmania.com , DiscountOrlandoVacation.com or MapleLeafTickets.com . Most online ticket brokers sell at nearlyt he same prices. If you find one that sells for less, make sure that they're including tax in their quote as well. And if they charge for shipping, make sure that the price is not outrageously high. Both DiscountOrlandoVacation and Ticketmania ship for free. MapleLeaf charges $4.95 for domestic Priority Mail.

The only source of the Quick & Casual Meal Vouchers (other than eBay) is DWTickets.com. They charge $16.95/voucher PLUS tax PLUS a shipping fee of $8.50 for FedEx Ground. That brings the total for 10 vouchers to $189.02 or about $18.90 per voucher. That price is no bargain with the exception of the Pepper Market at CSR, Beaches & Cream at the YC&BC and (maybe) Tangierine Café in Morocco (EPCOT). If a more affordable source of vouchers becomes available, then they might once again become worth the price but right now, I would not recommend them.

In general, you can expect to spend under $10 for an adult meal at a counterservice restaurant. That would include a platter and a beverage. If you want dessert as well, add another $3. Sitdown restaurants have various pricing depending on the restaurant. You can check out menus and pricing at AllEarsNet.com - Menus From Around the World . This might give you a better idea of what to expect to pay for meals.

Thank you for the warm welcome and the suggestions, it is greatly appreciated! I hope that after our trip I will be able to contribute some of my own tips to help other travelers.

Thanks again!
Ed
